Today morning checked engine bay and saw a stains on the bleed screw near the expansion tank. Is it sign of a leaking on it or else?. My ride e46n42 2002. Thanks in advance for advice.

Normally that is the indication bro. Try tightening the bleeder screw, perhaps its loose?

try to check the coolant level at the expansion tank ..if it's reduced hence what you see as stain could be the evaporation of steam due to a leak or a weakening bleeder screw ...

Clean the stains and tighten the screw then monitor from there. If you still can see stains then there must be a leak somewhere. Maybe a small crack.

Bleeder screw can die without warning. Change new expansion tank

What do u mean to change the new expansion tank?. My expansion tank change already for about a year. My coolant level also not low.

When you purchased the coolant tank, did it come with the bleeder screw? Normally no. Since you mentioned that the tank is new and if you have not changed the bleeder screw, change this as the rubber gasket on the screw tends to not function well after 3 years. What I normally do is replace the tank and screw every 3 years, together with the coolant sensor as well.
Do not overtighten the bleeder screw too :)

sepuloh ringgit shaja, your regular workshop should not even charge u for this... :)

Bought my brass bleeder screw from mybmwspares and never had any issues at all..

Does anyone know why stains come out from the bleeder screw?. Is it because of too much pressure from the cooling system?. Thanks in advance

What kind of stains bro ... Does it look like brownish milky stains? That would indicate engine or atf oil in the cooling system ... Have it thoroughly checked by the mech.

White color stain. Is this a serious problem?. What if the oil are in the cooling system?. Pls advice. Thanks

Stain near bleeder screw is the early sign of weak bleeder screw.
Get it change asap, before it break in middle of no where.

Once it break, the head of the screw will tear apart, and difficult to
Remove the balance screw thread.

Happened to me once during sunday when all workshop were closed.
Managed to drive home by wrapping the bleeder screw hole with thick plastic.

Since then, I always buy extra screw and keep in the glovebox.
