Question on this rare beast for sale

Hi!
Just browsed in here from Sweden. This car, is it still there or was it sold as one? The reason is a project we are undertaking, to map the location (country) of all E34 M5s.
That car must be a rare find in Malaysia?! I dit not expect to see any at all actually, but seems to be a few when I read the post in the E34 section.

A 1995 with 6 speed, then it was only built in 404 units (LHD). Does anyone if the car is still there and could someone passing by possibly check the identity of that vehicle?
If it is sold, how do I get in contact with the company that had it? And do they speak English?
Was it a Euro import then? Why have they cut it in half? Was it in an accident or would you get high taxes if importing such a car as a complete vehicle?

I'll give the ones intersted in the E34 M5 some links on the work we do:

This is the register page for the 3.8: http://www.e34m5.se/forum/m538_lhd_register.asp
Ext. colours for the 3.8: http://www.e34m5.se/forum/M538lhdfarger.asp
Some notes on exported M5s: http://www.e34m5.se/forum/landsutforanden.asp

We are featured on the m5board.com also: http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/e3...till-alive-international-e34-m5-register.html

If someone thinks they might have any info that could help out, please feel free to contact me in a PM.

With best regards,
Nick

Hi Nick - the last time I checked - the car has been sold (eventhough, physically, the car is still at the chop shop). It's purple in color ....

I was told that someone down south of Malaysia (in a state called Johore) bought the car.

Thanks for the informations. Is there a homepage for this Chop Shop?

unlikely.. most of such establishments here rely on established reputation, walk-in customers and word-of-mouth marketing. very very few are e-commerce savvy.

Hi,

Still investigating this car. We believe it might have been taken in from Japan, as the only car with that paint, black interior and electric seats was sold there. The headlights looks like Jap spec too (no "smile" in the lower part?).

Would this be common at Malaysian Chop shops, to import from Japan? Or only Europe rather?
I e-mailed the company (through some company form I found online) with that inquiry, but I suspect they dont take much interest in this M5 Club associated matter.

Any help is appreciated. I can help too, if someone needs OEM parts for their E34 M5. Then contact me and I can fix you a great discount from a European dealer, that will also send to Malaysia (only E34 M5 specific parts though).

/Nick

Hi Nick - Most likely it comes from Japan or Hong Kong ..

Yup - most of the chop shop will not really entertain any questions - unless u know them personally.
