Stop my car for Dinner, restart after dinner every thing back to norm for a while as photo attached. Couple minutes later it was back to the former again.

Yours One Is Nothing Compare To Mine One. My E39 Display Lost Most Of The Pixel!

This Is Famous Problems!

I think if you want it fixed, that's the only way. But here .... I think u may want to consider changing the meter out if the dead pixels bother u, ya.

But according to the web site, if you change to a new meter, then there will be a lot of reprogramming required. I assume I may need to live with it 1st. Will miss the feeling of owning a stock complete car then. 1 last try, anyone here have sent parts oversea for repairing and what is your experience.. mind sharing..

What's so difficult about coding the other meter to your car general module? It's less than 20 minutes job.

I actually have the manual (bought from ebay in softcopy)......seems can DIY, but, I had trouble trying to remove the wood panel lah!...hahaha..scared i break it...so, until today, haven't fixed the dead pixels yet..full guide with pics...and a way to resolve the issue, cud be permanent fix or at least, much lasting i think..
Anyone interested in group DIY ah?

No issue with me for group DIY but I am no expert here la, if we can get a sifu to assist, then we would have more confident. are you expert??

Don't change the meter, it will cost u a bomb. Anyway the problem is only the dead pixel. I've repair mine last year by this guy, cant remember the cost but it's around RM500 to RM700 if I'm not mistaken or might be lower (to many things repaired cant remember for this one cost me how much).
Still trying to find his no. once found will post.

Google it and yap, good insight, thanks....but to no help. Anyone knows of any shop here in Malaysia which can do the same as http://vdorepair.com/

Gerald,
I found the following contacts from an old issue of Motor Trader. These guys claimed to be BMW Meter Repair Specialist, 012-2122078 or 012-2202408. Try giving them a call. If it works, post the experience.

Cheers

The pixel problem came back again, call the above number posted by you to speak to a guy by the names of Lau. I was quoted RM800, what they will do is to cahnge the LCD liquid and he claims that he have did it on many E39 and X5. Their appoached is total different as what I have read in bimmerforum. Wonder wonder??:stupid:

Try this no. 0164402112. He did mine previously.RM800 seems a bit expensive.
