the thing is, yes, there are alot of goodies in the package, with wutever has been mentioned before, its just that, all throughout the years, Proton has created such a good name for itself, that today, no mater what it does, most people will just turn around n conclude, its still a Proton, many of them dont bother whether it is Lotus tuned or wutever, its still a Proton. The mentality of many M'sians are such. And to say if the rich boys would go in for it?? Would they rather have this or something along the lines of perhaps an RX 8 lying in the porch? Lets say u guys were all rich dads looking to buy a sporty car for ur kid, would u buy a Proton if you were looking at something in that price range?? Lol, bare in mind the safety this brand is known for...
my 2 cents..feel free to bombard me, but in my opinion, its utter rubbish, another waste of resources...why bother?

Supergripen, i like the way u put it...

There was a batch of Satria Neo club sport which is a lightened road car with roll cages which were sold as a package with 1 season of racing. I know one of our forummers bought 1 and I have a brief drive in it. It has a non-CPS campro rated at 140hp.
And guess who bought these cars??? hehe... Rich dudes who wants to race but not in their Ferrari or Porsches..

Ooiii guys ... if Tun M read all your comments, I think he will die standing, heheheheee.

Exactly.. these guys hv seen it all, driven the best cars and been to places. They just need something 'cheap' to thrash around the track, what better car to buy.Being a Malaysian car, they'll get all the support locally.Makes a lot of sense.

no matter how good proton makes their cars from scratch.. people would still buy a re-badged so-called national car today.

It's the mentality

This car got identity...benchmark is there but need more details improvements..a lot. my 2 cent!

Love to try out...but one thing that come into my minds is. Imagine if you park this car while bring it out for shopping or whatever activity...if GTI is very hot for the thief, this is even more. somemore 25 only. wow Mr thief must be really happy.

I doubt a thief would steal such a car. They would steal cars that are easy to sell, and not easily spotted. A "rare" car would be quite difficult to sell, as it would be easy to spot, plus who would want to buy a obviously stolen car. Well, maybe a stupid thief would steal one... there's always a few of those everywhere.

It's not the car. I think Proton has an image problem. People just hate to mention its name.

Agreed!!

ps-Just bid for B777..tak tahu dapat ke tak,we'll see in a few..

nowaday thief used go to school already...they steal and duplicate. then sell it. Its a rare that interest people other wise just go on neo cps instead. hope not happen.

Car is rediculous priced..... Twice the price of a normal satria. Even fully modded and power exceeding the R3 it would cost less that the R3

I wonder if you guys ever seen a or driven one make race car beside Proton Satria R3,lots of goodies in the package. Just get a cage and a few setting...damn its fast and cheap.I think they are targeting that market. But I like to echo what fun_fahrer says, Proton has to improve on their image.Cos next year no more V-Tecs and Valves control in SIC FIA sanction S1K race. What newer car to run against Proton Neo R3? Vios,Jazz,Latio? But then again I might be wrong la.

only my dua sen opinion la.

If i,m not mistaken Proton will /already produce 25 units of this thing and 11 already booked! How's that sounds to you guys?:smokin:

can we ship one to Jeremy Clarkson....;p

I dred to see what he would do to the car after seeing how he tore the Kelisa into pieces..:smokin:

Read Paultan's blog on the car.The interesting part was reading the hundreds of comments that was made by bashers and supporters alike. Some idiot even tried to compare it to the FD2R(Civic type-R sedan).

I think the bashers are overly unfair in their criticisms, but at the same time I think the price is indeed difficult for most to swallow. For most of us who can afford BMWs,its not a problem..but for the average Proton buyer I can understand why they think it's expensive.Having said that, this is not a car targeted at ur typical Proton buyer.Hell,if I had the extra cash,I'd love to own a piece of our country's motorsports aspirations,of which this is a product of.

I think the closest car in our market to the Lotus Neo is a Suzuki Swift Sport with the special tune 1.9 engine.Would love to see how these two compares on the track.
