Wife and I visited Mitsubishi showroom today. Only car available for test drive was the new Lancer Sportback 2.4.

If Lancer is Wira's grandfather, than Sportback is Wira Aeroback's grandfather.

My wife loved the car but at RM130k, we arent getting it.

I liked the interior of the Mitsubishi and if the Inspira's interior is similar, I can certainly live with it.

I am just hoping for the similar built quality and I'll be very happy with the car.

We then crossed over to try the Civic 1.8. The interior felt smaller and dated. Although the Civic felt very smooth, I guess my wife liked the Sportback better.

Keeping my fingers crossed for the Inspira. Hope Proton doesnt bungle it up.

The Lancer GT 2.0 (fully imported) is selling in Langkawi for RM71.8k.

see http://www.mitsubishi-motors.com.my/sho ... ngkawi.php

I cannot understand why the Inspira 2.0 with 26% local parts is priced RM94k in Peninsular Malaysia.

In fact the Inspira 2.0 is priced at RM85k?

See http://www.arenakereta.com/2010/10/16/s ... lah-bocor/

This is really absurd.

Having booked the 2.0 Inspira last week, I now am very dissapointed with this pricing differential .

Can someone explain how a Malaysia car with 26% local parts cost more than a fully imported CBU from Japan?

I dont understand why after driving BMW u go booking proton & complain bout it.
Hitler pun marah giler weyyy. I rather buy old skool E30 or E34 than any proton car:smokin:

I heard the first 900 units will be fully imported except the bumpers?

I booked the car for my wife to replace her 9 year old Waja.

We wanted to get something under RM100k.

After looking at the pictures, I am having more doubts

Why dun you buy another bmw lets say 5 series & let you wife drive the E36.
Or you have to live with pricing & quality of proton if u decide to go for brand new inspira. If dun like the taxes or whatever reason, boikot not to buy. Sampai bulan jatuh ke riba pun Proton will never change.

There are plenty of nice cars to have for the price that u mentioned.I've booked a Ford Fiesta for the wife to drive around in.Was looking at a few options..City,Vios,Swift and even the SX4 crossover but having driven mostly contis,my wife prefers a conti car hence the Fiesta.Comes with a 3yr/60,000km free service and warranty period and priced pretty competitively at rm82,888otr.
But the other day we saw the gorgeous new Hyundai Tucson and she immediately fell in love with it.Its a little bit over my budgeted amount but I'm looking at it seriously.Pretty good deal from Hyundai,5yrs/300,000km warranty period and an 8yr buyback plan.
So there are other options out there other than Proton.

do consider about the after sales service as well. they can be a pain at times.

Hvnt got the car yet. When I booked, they told me that i can get it within 1.5 months as stated in the brochure.

A month later the salesmen called me and said that can only get car in 4 months time.

To be fair he did offere me a black car in the showroom but I prefered to wait for the white one as ordered.

Well I decided to wait as I also prefered getting a 2011 car.

I think Proton has really messsed it up as I dont see many Inspira's in Penang. In fact apart from the test drive cars I havent come across many.

But for RM90k+, I still think its a better option. After all its a rebadged Lancer minus a little.
