Hi..you Can Ask A Bmw Specialist At Batu Tiga, jalan Gambang(beside Atlas Ais) Kuantan...a Very Good Mechanic

hi there..i got a house there but rent it to somebody..i will try to go there when it's time for me to get my RM..thanks..

I guess being a new comer i missed alot of your experience in RFT.
I remember reading someone saying 18" is best with 35 psi? am I right?

After taken delivery of the car for just a few weeks, today I went to the petrol station, being the 1st time to add/adjust my tyre pressure. I apply 35 psi and begins to pump...OMG, the indicator reads 41psi!!! I quickly plug off...
Will the indicator shows flat warning if 1 of my tyre went down to 35psi?

Then i get back to the cabin, press RFT, confirm tyre pressure? I press "yes", system ask me to drive....then..?? what else, no message proceed from there...meaning what???

How should we add/adjust our RFT tyre pressure? what is the optimum for stock 18"? factory seems to set mine as 41psi...

Something went very wrong with their PDI (Pre-delivery Inspection)... I took mine from AB Sg. Besi. The PDI check list states clearly my tyres were inflated with 28psi on all 4 wheels but it was otherwise. My alignment also was not in order that I have to return the car in less than a week after delivery to get it rectify. The problem my car faces were:

1. Alignment pulling left
2. Wobbly steering
3. Extra hard air pressure sounded like the entire steering rack like want to drop off..

After they rectify the problem, I drove straight to the petrol kiosk to check my tyre pressure again, now it was way too low at about 26psi...

The recommended air pressure for your tyre is labeled on your driver side B-pillar (Door pillar).. should be easy to understand because its picture illustrated info and there a chart of what tyre size and loading capacity versus recommended tyre pressure. Please develop a feel for your tyre air pressure when driving the car and adjust the tyre pressure to your liking. Also please check the thread to see if its equally worn as you need to re-adjust your tyre pressure to ensure tyres worn out in equally.

To reset the RFT alarm, your user manual has a detail write up. I suggest u read your manual as you will discover a lot more things.

In brief, after pressing the RFT reset knob, you need to drive the car around for the RFT alarm to recalibrate the revolution of each wheel and use it as a benchmark. U must understand our RFT is not a measure of tyre air pressure but a revolution register of each wheel and its relation to other wheels.... please read your manual.

i have been told that the repair kit is a bottle of liquid actually. You pump into where you pump the air. Any idea how much is it?

They call it "Mobility Kit" that comes witha 750ml bottle of liquid sealant, a 12V electric air pump, gloves, instruction booklet and a nice canvas case. All in RM600+ and available at all BMW service center.

Go and do donut with it until it gets botak la and then quickly change it to non RFT

I was pretty cynical of the bad reviews of the RFTs when I had them on my ride, but now after swapping out to non-RFTs, I am a convert! :D

Today tried DY and Paul's 18" non-RFT, Pauls KW2's ride like like a dream, very quiet and comfy while DY's Prokit was a little harsh/sporty :D compare to Paul's KW2. My RFT is definitely rocks!! I meant can hear the ke..tuk..ke..tuk.. rolling sound on tarmac.. :(

thanks for the nice talk to my car bro! i was adjust my absorber to a bit harder!! now dam regret!!!!!!!! want to change back softer as the day u sat!

OMG ! I would not really call it a rip off as these are the "official" products
that come with other gadgeteries ....but mine I bought it at Jusco - around RM 30 . Only the can - not other gadgets . Think the brand is ABRO - Made in USA . Did get a chance to use it - had a flat due a big screw & I was too lazy to do a tyre change . it was really simple - just unscrew the cap , press the nozzle - your tyre will be to normal & safe enough to drive to tyre shop .

well, i guess it is better if you always have spare tires. Where ever you go, anytime it is possible for to have flat tires...so bring spare tires with all the accessories with it. Cheers, Hency Edven, Car lease

On the contrary, I am seriously considering removing the spare wheels from my other cars to reduce weight, improve pickup and fuel efficiency, which of course environmental friendly.. because I seriously never use my spare tyre since the day tubeless tyre is commercialised. Don't understand why so many still can't sleep without it.

All punctures I suffered over the years (avg. 3 times a year) are all taking more than 2 weeks to completely flat, during which I would have spotted them in my daily visual inspection and get it fixed in a day or 2...

My only worry is the removal of the spare wheel upsets the balance of the car.. :(

What BMW did by introducing RFT is an automobile innovation landmark, first in the industry.. since 2005, 4 years now yet no one dare to even follow .. with the brilliant use of DSC component as a run flat indicator, gives the owner ample time to "rescue" a punctured tubeless tyre the moment it start to deflate. No spare, no liquid sealant injection, no jack, no hassle. Leave it to the technology.. BMW rocks !

One of the landmark invention before RFT:
