for few months my e39 experiencing rough idle, bout 650rpm -750rpm. cleaned the icv but the idle smooth for few weeks b4 becuming rough again. yesterday, it started to get worst. idle around 450-500rpm w/o aircon turn on. engine shaking and when the car start to move from stanstill, it felt like abig jerk b4 it move.the cause for it was due to cracked, melted vacuumhose. the hose located underneath the intake plastic cover. got it replaced together with the oil separator/airvent. i change it eventhough it might not faulty as PM asto replace it later you hv to repeat the same process again. the result: ilde like new car. no more engine shaking2..fantastic :top:

ar... the famous problems of the M50/M52's engines... not a lot of hassle..

good that it does not cost much...

Yes i used to have that problem once. Got that damn brittle PCV hose replaced together with oil/air separator. They call this the "jantung" of the car maybe cuz of how it looks...i dunno.

I remember the car sounds like boxer when idling time :p
