Sifus,

I chanced upon a 530d which has very low mileage with good interior and exterior. However, the car feels heavy with lag on low speed.

Anyone can advise on the following:

1) Reliability of the car. Some friends discourage the idea as they said diesel car would not last
2) Car engine rattling like a lorry during idling and initial acceleration. Owner said only need to tune. Is that true?
3) Is maintenance and parts for 530d expensive?
4) Market value? Owner asking for RM110k
5) Problem starting. Key turn but no sound. I doubt it is a battery problem. Any thoughts?

Would also appreciate any thoughts and inputs

Yes, very good price and rather low mileage too. One owner with full service record?

The M54 engine is a reliable one and no major issues with it. Besides the usual checklist, need to pay attention to the gearbox ie. smooth gear changes? iDrive & Active Steering working well?
