Robert was an experienced rider, but accidents happen, and in this instance it was due to the mistake of others. May be some of you here knew Robert as he was an oldtimer and participated in many rides with various groups. Our condolences to Robert's wife and family.To fellow motoradders, be conservative and always prepared for such possibilities.Ride safe always!Saturday October 30, 2010Businessman in superbike convoy dies in accidentIPOH: A businessman, who took part in a superbike convoy, was killed when his motorcycle skidded after hitting a lorry at KM262.7 of the North-South Expressway near the Menora Tunnel here.Ipoh traffic police chief DSP Mohd Rodzi Rejab said Robert Lim Boon Huat, 52, from Taman Desa, Kuala Lumpur, died at the scene in the mishap which occurred at 11.15am yesterday.His body was taken to the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital for a post-mortem.Mohd Rodzi said another participant of the convoy, Cheng Teng Siong, 38, from Puchong, Selangor, whose machine also skidded, only sustained minor injuries.He said initial investigation revealed that the accident occurred when the lorry unexpectedly manoeuvred into the fast lane and grazed against Lim’s machine, causing him to lose control and skid.Cheng, who was trailing behind could not avoid but rammed into Lim and his machine.Both motorcycles then caught fire and were razed, he said.The victims, together with nine other members of the convoy, were heading home to Kuala Lumpur after visiting Betong, Thailand. —
