Retrofit Navigation for pre-facelift E60's.

navigation. just for me to navigate road since im poor in memorizing road. i onli wan opts for navigation n bluetooth. waseh bro thule...don cuci me lidat la.i not rich like u so cant modify too much since got TIGHT budget le. i can feel tat i kena cuci sial, haha

Bluetooth I can't help you.... you have to go for their original BMW specialist or authorised service centre in order to retrofit bluetooth module...
BMW Service Centre - freaking expensive!
BMW Specialist or Workshop - half the price!! You choose

As for navigation... once u change the entire CCC, you can start to use BMW's original Sat Nav system... coz they will give you MalSing map as well :top: otherwise... add interface RM2300 and Garmin RM2500... total less than RM5000 nia...

ini budak ah... can't modify too much... but got budget to buy Alphard :stupid:
when you buy E60... you have to prepare to spend considerable sum of $$$ in order to have things that you want... and they don't come cheap compared to Japanese cars...

LOL okok.i did check wit my mechanic,he told me once i change my ccc to msia spec then bluetooth will be included le. tis...i don no how truth is his statement so far. can any1 verify for me? lol

afta u get the CCC change then u will need the TCU module for the bluetooth function...it is not built inside the CCC...TCU is install on the left hand side of the cars boot...

haha bro thule....i just don wan spend too much $$$ on the E60. janji the car can jalan then im happy liao. spend too much onli waste my money. tat y i don bother to modify my car untill now. i still somehow prefer its original look. all i wan is just to have navigation and bluetooth in my car then tats it. not rich like u got big budget to modify tis n tat ma, haha. unless u wan kasih me loan $$$$$ then i can modify lo, hehe

our bro t2ribena said it already... gigibiru module doesn't come with the CCC... you have to buy separately... if you don't mind paying the money, go ahead la... after all, it's the satisfaction that is derived from having the things that you want :top:

for me, it's the aesthetic look as well as the pleasure in driving the E60... cruising with such a beautiful beast while listening to the songs I like...

hey everyone....i really would like to upgrade my car system...now i got my 2006 japan spec....i have already install my kenwood reverse camera....really good...togather with that, i got to install an interface in order to use the camera....now would like your help to advice me on what to do if i want to upgrade to this function:
1) GPS system. Which brand is the best and how much.
2) TV on drive. Just want to watch
3) Upgrade my iDrive system. Currently no AuxIn. Which system is the latest.
4) DVD
To my understanding, now i've got the interface, so it's much easier to upgrade all this feature. I really like the TV function, thats why i decided not to change the CCC. Really you guys can help me in giving advice, where to do it and how much would it cost. Thanks a loy brothers.

Dear RB,
I'd done all the job mentioned above for my Japan spec E60 last week... so far everything work just fine
Regarding your questions:
1) Garmin gvn53 (the latest) is the best :top: simple to use operation...
2) TV... I still retain the TV function but never really use it... too blur and can't watch it while driving. Maybe our my. DIY, t2ribena, can shed some light here...
3) You can go to any BMW specialist and request for upgrade... but be careful.. coz the upgrade should cost less than RM1000. Mine had been upgraded to v30 and "AuxIn / Audio Aux" is displayed on iDrive screen
4) This is important... normally they will install the DVD player in your dashboard in your CD changer's place. But you will need to upgrade software first or else, the sound will be channeled thru radio frequency and not directly to your speakers.

thule, finally i confirm my re-trofit navigation on my ride. total gotta cost me RM5.5k n those item include
1) interface
2) dvd function + tv on the go
3) GPS System

is tis price ok? im not too sure about kl market for how they charge on tis. but in jb here, my mechanic confirm me n i be sending my ride over his shop tis 2nd dec.how do u think? ok ma tis price? need ur feedback soon else i really be sending over liao

if Japan specs... It's about that rate la... coz interface already cost somewhere between RM2300 - 2800;
1) GPS - Garmin is the best brand in the market now... the latest version is gvn53 (not 52)... should be around RM2500! What brand does your mechanic give you???
2) DVD - is it a player in which they will install into your dashboard at the place of CD changer? what brand is it?
3) Since yours is Japanese spec... your car will not lose the TV function la... but still you cannot watch TV while driving. The quality is still bad...

by the way, has your iDrive show the "Audio Aux"??? Very important...

nope. but my mechanic told me once interface is install, i definetely get the AuxIn as he fix it for me. alternatively i plan to install two tv at rear sit. any occur in ur mind on tis b4? lol..not sure how it will be. im not sure bout the brand answer to ur question 1 & 2. definetely im going to give him a call n ask. see wat rojak brand he wan give me

I'm not good in explaining this... but I'll try to put my words in as good as possible. there are a lot of interface in the market but the best comes from Korea... try to ask him on this!
"AuxIn" WILL only appear once you do progman to your car... at least v28 and above (mine v30) will show "Audio Aux" or "AuxIn" in the iDrive menu.
Interface is a chip used to bypass the CCC and to use to install GPS, DVD player... if there's no AuxIn in your menu right now... even by installing the interface, the AuxIn will also not appear... this one I am very sure! In the end, the sound quality is not good coz it is channelled thru radio frequency...
It will be very troublesome and messy if you realise that everything is wrong... as you have to do it all over again...
Remember to make sure of everything first... ask him for warranty if necessary

P.S: About 2 TV monitor at the back.. I don't think so la... hahaha... it's up to individual's taste. For me... I only listen to song and play with Garmin...

thx for the great sharing info from u thule. thule, need ur assistance on tis. can u take the picture of ur i-drive tat show "AuxIn" or "Audio Aux" so tat i show it to my mechanic. i did asked him last time but it seem he don get wat i mean. so wit aid of picture will certainly make him solve the puzzle on tis. wee...im not worry at all on tis coz tat RM350 cheque havent pass to him, haha....tat y if can help me n show me ur pic about tis asap n i bring my car over to his garage tis weekend. will ask him fix it then onli i pay him. else i hold on his payment 1st, haha
