replica OEM steering wheel??

Hi Guys, Thinking of buying a e46 in good condition. However, I noticed that it has a replica OEM steering wheel as far as I can tell. It looks like the real deal. But beyond its looks, the cruise control buttons feel cheap, they don't have arrows from volume controls. Just plain black buttons. In addition, the steering wheel leather feels more like a cheap leather jacket than that german leather glove feel in the hands. Bro, if you're looking for the steering wheel in the photo, and there are no other fault in the car, just take it. That steering wheel is cheap and easy to replace, plenty at chop shops and many people on this forum would have it from upgrading their steering wheels.

Better still find an M sport one, or best the SMG steering with paddle shifts.

that said, I have never seen a lookalike replica steering wheels for these models? perhaps it is a botched attempt at rewrapping and repainting the ori steering wheel?

Hi yes i guess its not a replica and just a poor job of reconditioning. The soft rubber padding is spongey and loose underneath the leather wrapping.

I would be interested in seeing some fotos of ur msport steering wheel. send them along when u get a chance thanks Soma

Soma, may refer to the 3rd and 4th photos. Looks exactly the same ie. without steering controls.

Bro when you use the Fm transmitter....is the SQ really bad or acceptable?

Its acceptable...same as radio quality I guess as its transmitted through FM. Used it for a few years in the UK (few models).

Fine to use in one place...a bit difficult if you move around a lot as the channels are overlapping. Crowded areas such as London no use since all the channels are cramped together...very few free frequencies. Malaysia is OK i guess.

Only installed the Intravee as it is hardwired and came with extra useful functions which I liked a lot..
