replacing e36 crank pulley

hey guys by replacing the crank pulley of an e36,in this case a 318,does it help with performance?

From what I know, using lighter crank pulley will improve pick-up but top speed remains the same. A lighter crank pulley will carry less inertia, thus it's easier to be spun compared to the stock one.
