Engine shut down?

From what i know, the fuel filter is suppose to be change at every 60k km....or maybe once every 2yrs.....this is what i'm practising for my UDM....but when it's time to kaput, your pump will be kaput no matter how...

good practice to keep the fuel always above 1/4. The fuel pump gets hot if it is not submerged in fuel. This will kill it quickly. Also check the hose connecting both left and right fuel pumps.

The fuel pump should be changed every five years(normal use). Another one to check is the fuel pump relay.

Yes, not only the entire but also the fuel sender even though it is working.

If you dont know that, then you dont know much about E36 fuel pump.

Sorry, I cannot help you for being confuse. maybe you should plugged yourself into your diagnostic tool and try to see whether there is a bug residing somewhere in your body. :stupid:

RM180.. DIY :listen:

No doubt, Joker is always here to confuse people :) but bro Jarance, RM180 for DIY? U mean DIY on a dead fuel pump? Joker, didn't mean to be harsh but at least Jarance proved that he knows the fuel pump of a E36 better than you. He had actually helped me out on this in real life.

Joker, why don't you prove yourself by doing whatever you need to do on a volunteer's car F.O.C, then dyno test it and show it to the whole world? Of coz, the volunteer needs to be an independant party agreed by most of us here :)

i replaced the completed fuel pump with the upgraded fuel pump
version few month after i got the car.
i still have the previous pump. Till now the pump was running.

My car engine shuts down today twice while idling, engine crank once and starts, what could be the problem?

RM180.? the product was locally manufacture?, or from TAIWAN/CHINA/JAPAN/KOREA?
or it was US$ 180 ?

Why are you curious the price? It is RM180. How much did you pay for your upgrade?

I thought you can change the motor of the pump. I like to know how did you manage to repair the motor of the pump.

Bro, I thought you say you can repair the motor. Now you say you replace the pump with a performance pump.

How much did you pay for your performance pump.

Please check your AFM or ICV.

BTW, is your engine RPM steady or erratic. Sometime a vacuum leak could be cause.

The RPM was steady, This morning my wife drove the car to work, so far ok.

In that case, it is the vacuum loss. Check all the rubber hose from AFM to throttle body.

and this..
