Can someone enlighten me on the rebate for cars above 2.0 liters?I understand that there is a RM200 rebate from JPJ. What forms do I need to fill in, what documents do I need to bring. Is there a runner who can do this on my behalf and what are the charges? Also, this RM200 rebate is for those who renew on a 6 months basis or yearly? Thanks

yes pls, i need this info too as my 2.8 needs renewal end of this month...

thank you pple,

i read it in the papers during the petrol hike...it was stated clearly

so another bodowi plan...

hell wt this gormen... let them keep it and contribute to their wealth!!!

sach

I did mine last Wednesday 2/7/08 at Taman Tun Post Office. I renewed 2 cars, my father's 2.4 and my wife's 1.3.

The 1.3L is a little tricky, need to fill in form and if owner do it personally, just your original IC is required for on the spot verification, and u get CASH RM625 on the spot. Since I am doing a 3rd party request, I need to get the owner's photocopy of IC, stapled together with the form, drop into a box and they will mail a Kiriman Wang Pos to the address in the form.

The 2.4L is very straight forward, just pay the net Road Tax amount after the RM200 deduction. I paid RM456 for the 2.4L 12mth road tax. It used to be RM656.. or something like that..

Don't forget the RM2/car post office service charge.

Understand?! :D

I had my roadtax renewed in April. The annoucement of fuel increase was in June. Can I still claim my RM200?

For cars above 2000cc its a reduction of road tax not rebate.

The JPJ and Post Office computers were updated on 24.6.2008 to take into account this new road tax rate.

I renewed my Road Tax at Pg GPO on 25.6.2008.

I paid RM674 instead of RM874 I paid last year for my E36 325i.

The new road tax rates are effective June 2008( not sure exact date).

Road tax renewed b4 effective date at old rate.

B4 u make payment just ask the counter lady to check how much is ur road tax payable.

Dont ask them about rebate as most of them ignorant about this reduction.

When I enquired she started barking that rebate only for car under 2.0cc.

Then I just checked road tax payable, when I confirmed figure lower, then I paid.

Rachael, you'll have to wait to next year to enjoythe new rate.

Cheers.

PS The stupid Ambank advetisement appears on my roadtax disc!

Halo sis, you had renewed your R/T in April, this transaction does not qualify for the RM200 reduction from JPJ. [No instruction from the government to REFUND]

Follow this simple guide;

1) All passenger vehicle below 2,000 cc [Renewal of R/T from April 01st 2008 will be entitle to a RM625 Cash rebate. Collect the Cash from Post Office (valid until March 31st 2009)].

2) All passenger vehicles above 2001 cc [Renewal from June 24th 2008 will be entitle a RM200 reduction for R/T] No Cash rebate here & not required to queue at the Post Office.

Hope the information do help some of you guys & gals.

in post office what we need to provide them

Going to the post office:
If own claim, just bring ur original IC, if 3rd party claim, just bring a photocopy of their IC.

At the post office:
3rd party claim, fill up a form (obtain from any conter) and drop into a drop box. No immediate cash rebate for 3rd party. Kiriman Wang will be mail to u.

For own claim, take a number, pop up into any counter and ask for a Road Tax Rebate form, fill them in and wait for your number. You will get CASH RM625.

Above 2000cc.. nothing you need to do and can do.. :D

I think for the Civic, you got hope. I believe Civic is under 2001 ltrs engine capacity.

e46, my civic road tax was renewed Jan 2008. thus, i hv to wait till next year.... RM625+200=825$
i hpoe by then government dont change policy again..

No Rachel... the current rebate is meant for this year ONLY due to the RM0.78 petrol price hike. If no announcement next year, then no rebate or discount next year. Again, that's subject to crude oil price next year. Maybe petrol price back to RM1.92 ler.. Must be very careful when listen to politician!

If next year still got RM625, I would be collecting Kancil now.. :p

Just collected my rebate at the Post Office, simple as 1,2 and 3.

I am actually pleasantly surprised with the simplicity of the whole process.

Cheers :)

actually she will be able to claim rebate on the civic next january. the guaranteed rebate eligible period continues into next year. (till one full year total is completed)
