What are the option that i have to resolve this problem. Can I just change the elemen or do i need to change the windscreen. Thanks in advance for the advice.

The one and only solution.

Change the windscreen. :eek:k:

i have the same problem too, the element have kaputz..
Jeff, how much cost the rear windscreen. :p

As i'm no expert...but last quote was bout RM650-RM750 (non-original) didn't know where it was made from, not inclusive of installation charges. Please bear in mind that the rubber linings might have to be changed too.

As my previous ride's rubber lining were still usable, thus I didn't ask for the rubber lining price.

uh guys....dont u mean the demister unit ah?

mine is also kaput...... :(

i heard tht the only way is to change to a new or used(but good condition demister unit) rear windscreen.....

dun quote me cos have not tried before.....

but find where element is broken first. if complete then maybe got chance cos then main incoming power cut off somewhere.....

if broken at certain lines, more susah....

how to fix? anyone tried using solder yet? not easy but as said, never tried, never knows. I guess best results when complete glass off car and on flat surface!

just an idea......dun shoot me huh!

otherwise CHANGE!!!

OK, this is how i do the testing and concluded that the elemen karput.

I use the DC testpen (you know, screwdriver with in-built bulb and a long wire coming out from it) clip to the body. Test the testpen to the positive terminal of the battery and it light up (show that the grounding is working).
Swith on the main supply (key) and switch on the demister/defroster and touch the testpen to one of the cable connector at the left/right of the windscreen. At the left hand side, the bulb light on but at the right hand side the bulb didn't light on. This means the supply reach the demister but didn't go through it to the other end.
Am i doing the right testing procedures here?

Thanks guys
