guys,I just bought a HUD Parking sensor, according to the seller this cool staff display parking distance and vehicle speed on the windscreen, i believe something like reflection onto the windscreen surface, don't know how well this thing works, problem is i have to drill 4 holes into my E34 rear bumper, i m worry this may spoil the bumper, anyone has done this before? i notice there r some round marks on the bumper, shd i drill there? do i have to remove the bumper to get things done? Please advice.thanks.

5 months ago, i bought a parking sensor fom brother outlet, cool stuff come with LED light display indicating parking distance but after some reserch on how to drill hole on my bumper, i gave up installing and return the goods to Brother in exchange for other good, was looking to buy an electromagnet parking sensor after that but the price was high and very few people has comment on it, the plus point is not need to drill hole which solve my problem but reliability is suspect. After months of indecision, i again stuck with this conventional sensor and hell plan to install it no matter how long it take. The hardest question: how to DIY and drill hole onto the bumper? there is only 1 chance to do it right!

spending hours googling, few site showing installation on accord, audi, CRV etc but not E34. It is not necessary to remove the bumper for those cars, hope it applies to E34 too.

took hours to measure, remeasure & remeasure, finally brave enough to drill some holes, i used the flexible tape to measure, it is easier to adjust.

Finally, done with 4 holes and ready to install the sensor onto the bumper and to find a way / hole to insert the wires through into the back of the car. I took donkey hours to find a hole big enough to insert the wires, should have ask tiger kayu for advise earlier.

thanks bro, accessaries shop will just drill hole to insert wires and i just don't like to see people drill holes to my car, i have managed to locate the existing holes to pull the wires through up to the dashboard, will post more picture once complete. Currently still searching for the SPEED SIGNAL cable, anyone know where to find?

It a busy day, continue works after 6pm, only managed to connect the +ve & -ve wires from the PDC unit to the reverse light socket and pull the all 4 sensor wires into the booth area one at a time.

Finally got it done!, FYI speed signal wire is above the foot rest, Blk/wht colour. Here is how my car looks now, Parking distance in meter and speed in KM. It is already late when i finished the final touch, just have enough energy to test out the speed display on a short road behind my house, foot is too tired to press any faster

, don't know the max. speed limit in the display but i believe it should be within my driving limit of 200km/hr.

jarance, just go to ebay malaysia and search, I believe it shd be listed there, here are more photos, notice the red arrow?, a camry skid and landed into the bushes, during many years using this road, have seen this happened to many cars before but none is E34.:top:...sorry picture is no good, my phone camera seems to focus beyond the windscreen, anyway hand also shaking, not yet take breakfast.

ouch...(see pic) the sad end of my parking sensor project, courtesy from my lovely wife, she probably think that i am too free and decided that i need to continue with the project, it happened at the tmn tun junction where the never ending construction is going on, she claimed that a worker suddenly jump out to flag / stop the car in front of her, the accident involved 4 cars. I am contemplating whether to sue the bloody company for the damage, the sensor kit alone cost $350 not including damage to the bumper, front & back, though the kit is still working there are scratches and the ring is broken.
