burn...happy with ur new windscreen so far?...do they give warranty or something....just wondering..

alamak, guarantee windscreen... gua rasa tarak la. this is a locally made BMW windscreen endorsed by BMW itself. most local BMW is locally fitted. import punya lain cerita, but some also pasang locally, gua rasa la sebab nak reduce cost punya pasal. bought mine locally at RM400++. if original will be around RM1300, not inclusive of labour and rubber seal cost. windscreen same thickness, double layer.
but if got leaking, then maybe got guarantee la. can go back at the same place to retify it. but if crack for unknown reason, then i believe sure can discuss with them. but kena batu or vandal, then sorrylah. best thing buy insurance coverage for windscreen.
after pasang a week, better add in tinting for front. kalau accidently windcreen retak, you will be save from the splinter.

Ok, my question is:

1. Who ever change the e39 windscreen?? I just call the workshop and their said that insurance only claimable for the windscreen but not the rubber around windscreen (refer diagram below). The windscreen cost nearly RM3000 for ori e39 windscreen.

2. If i change the windscreen, what kind of parts i need to buy myself? Since i staying in JB, so i thk i will go to S'pore for good bargain.

3. I noticed that the bottom of rubber which holding the windscreen got crack also. So izzit i need to change it too?

4. How much $$ to prepare for this case??

5. Any else part i need to buy except the rubber part 1??

I think you need to buy some clips for part 1, not sure how many, it cost around RM $5 - $8 per clip. The plastic clip is white in color, they are placed bewteen part 1 and windscreen.

Err..., can tumpang buy something in SG...hehe.

U mean the part no.2? Then how much the total clip i need to buy? Juz one clip for the front windscreen?

can you still manage to find original BMW windscreen for E30. Mine got cracks, plan to change it soon. but i've checked with first division and bomin auto, both say all ori are out, options available is MSG or germany imported..Price for both is almost the same less than Rm500. Also tried AB, but they say need to import, cost - unknown.

btw, I got mine covered for RM1500, so should be able to cover the cost needed to get a ori windscreen.

wanted to do it at AB, but need to put the car there for 2 days. instead found this place thru web, only need around 2 hour to complete. professionally done. they specialise more on minor crack repair. got mamak there, so can lepak there while waiting. mine, kena 1.2K plus front window seal and silicone wiper. give a try...

Actually, ur windscreen cost around RM5200 only. but why u don't want to put under insurance's claim? U just only have to add RM300 to cover ur windscreen, yearly. Well got to go...c u later mate

Mine 5 series E60. The rear windsreen scrack due to my mistake.

Suprisingly it cost me RM5500. I only insured for RM3000. Have to pay extra.

Do you know that windscreen comeswith different quality?

Anyone knows is there any diffrent for the windscreen size for E36 4 doors and E36 coupe ? As the supplier told me there is no locally made windscreen for E36 coupe lae ??? Thought the width of the windscreen is the same with 4 doors coupe ??? Please enlighten me...Thank you
