hyee,if i hv a over heating problem and have to change the cylinder head , piston rings , how much is the estimated cost and where is the most reliable workshop (if puchong area or serdang) to get it done?please help me out here ..thank you ladies/gents

your is the M52 engine. It is a robust engine. Have you done a compression test to confirm that the gasket is blown?
Normally, for overheating problem, it is seldom that the piston ring need to be changed.
Did you by any chance add COLD water immediately when you experience overheating due to loss of coolant?
If you allow the engine to cold down first, you might not need to do the top overhaul.
If you have add cold water immediately, chances is that you may have warped the cylinder head.
Depending on the warping, you might get away with a bit of cylinder head skimming and a complete change of the top gasket.
The only way to find out is to remove the cover and inspect.
Top overhaul will cost you about RM3K to RM5K depending on the parts changed.
btw, can you start the car and if can start, does your car lack power?

Pls send ur engine head and block to do d water test before doing d overhaul....
U don't want to end up keep facing d overheat problme after done d overhaul due to crack head or block....
I will advice u change d head if u find out any crack instead of skim it cos its will not last long....
Maybe u shld consider to buy a Engine kosong from chop shop to save more money and hassle....
