i ve talked to a mechanic few days back complaining about my underpowered e34. he suggested that i changed the cylinder block from 2.0 to 2.5 ltr. but we talked in a hurry so i didnt have the time to ask for details but he did mention the cost will be around 3-4 k. so im really appreciate any info. does the process called stroking? or stroking is rebore the existing cylinder to 2.5 size? what are the parts involve if i change the cylinder block to 2.5.? pistons, con rod, crankshaft.... what about the head, cams, extractor, DME ? what about tuning? is there any down side of this process.? im sorry if u already discussed this topic a few times, but i cant find the thread. :106: calling all sifus, i really need your opinions. please help.. help.. help... :63:* i drive e34 m50b20 (manual)

better upgrade to a M50, better, newer, powerful engine... also will be about 30% expensive..

my engine already m50b20.. just want to upgrade to 2.5.... m5 or v8 is out of my zone. even if i can afford the swap, cant afford the maintainence. so thinking a small scale mod. hehehe

Stroking = Bigger Crankshaft, increase pistons' swept distance (low end torque increased)
Boring = Bigger Pistons, increase pistons' diameter (high end power increased)

well, it will give you better power. but noting but the whole package. your intake manifold, injectors, head and etc.

i would recommend full package replacement where it will be m50b25. :).

or the M52 2.8 internals... but you will need the head...

i have the internals of the m50 B25... some here, some there...

mmm...

learn new things today... thanks for the opinions, you guys great.

collecting money to do the job.
