Well the day has come again.. Every year we as citizen of this country hopes the current goverment will do their best to spend money wisely for the betterment of the people from all walks of life. Our wish list...1. Better public transport system. Go for the long term. Not revise every 3 or 4 years.2. Improved security and reduce the number of crimes.3. Reduced personal income tax. (So can buy the outgoing E60 that i've been salivating for so long :top: )4. Better overall education system. 5. Reduced car price? (Err this one can aahh)6.This is only from my point of view so anyone can add to the list.Cheers

I think a total revamp of how the road tax system works should be given consideration as well. Maybe the road tax should be based on the price of the car instead of engine capacity.

I'm definitely a big supporter on the reduction of personal income tax.

Increase or include all EPF contribution as tax deductable and not limit it to just RM5000.
BTW, Singapore allow full deduction for CPF cotribution. I dont see why they govt is keeping and using
our hard earn money and giving back small dividend in return.

Allow FULL tax deduction for Education Insurance and Personal Insurance.

let us use our account 1 from the EPF to pay our housing loan every 10 years once ..... a lump sum ..

or else when we retire we still need to pay the bank ....

Very good suggestions ENKIL.

I'd hope the government put into plans to improve the Public Transport. The last time the government talked about this was when fuel price increased to Rm2.70. Fuel prices have been increasing the last couple of months, and will only go up further in the near future. An efficient public transport will benefit everyone from poor to rich.

Cheers

i believe this one was recently presented and quite comprehensive. Expect an announcement soon (not during budget) and the measures / deliverables with timelines as well.

Care to elaborate more bro?

Even now Ron 97 at Rm2.05 already pinched a lot of my expenditures.

Government will require motorists to use MyKad to pump petrol soon, where I assumed profiling will be done according to your household income. So you may have to pay more, even for RON95!! To me this is inevitable as 40% of the country's expenditure is covered by revenue from oil and gas, and in 5 years time barring any major oil discovery, Malaysia will be a net oil importer. So, as I said earlier it will only get worse.

The other bummer in the budget (other than that, it was relatively a pain free budget) is the re-introduction Real Property Gains Tax (RPGT). RPGT is a tool normally used to curb excessive speculation in the market, where tax is imposed on gains made on property sale transactions.

At present, I do not think there is much speculation on the market, perhaps the government is really looking into ways to improve its coffers, so if you plan to dispose your property, do it before January 1st 2010.

Cheers

My wishlist is more for the 'expenditure' instead of the 'income' (tax) because it all leads back to us. My wish is for the Government to be more transparent and accountable on their spend. Uneccessary and blatant mismanagement of our monies have been going on for too long. Billions lost here and there has ultimately made Malaysia Inc draw more and more from its citizens but 'dividents' havent been very forthcoming.

Damn. In that case I have to sell all my UDM & buy CLK (Cute Little Kancil):stupid:

Mr Prez,

How much is RPGT? Damn again now I'm in a process of selling my house:stupid:

Gomen has clarified it is 5% across the board, unless it's a transfer among family members. Earlier it was reported to be as high as 30%!

Saw the news on Astro Awani last night, that this could happen as early as January 2010. So yeah, TEKAN all you want. Remember how it was when fuel price was RM2.70!!:eek:

In The SUN, it is mentioned between first quarter and second quarter,
