hey guys..what is the symptom of oil level sensor kaput? lights will come out in the dash?just got to know mine is not working only when i use obd scanner..other than that, i dont have a cluefalse alarm by the scanner as no lights come out in dash? same goes to the abs sensor

Signs of a faulty oil sensor:

- When oil sensor tells you oil is low when it is not.
- When oil sensor does not warn you when oil is low

Faulty ABS sensor should trigger a warning light on the dash. Had this happen twice during my E39 ownership.

orange color oil lamp light will stay on for only 20sec after every engine start. that is the indication of oil level sensor failure. its costs 162rm and 10mins to change from sump under. but if you are the type which checks for the engine oil level using the dip stick every other week, then just ignore this one..its not urgent.

mine failed ever since i bought car 5 years ago and the light never came up....till i had the sensor replaced.

my case is similar to you bro moots. got it changed recently. no more error code in shown from bmw scanner.

with my car. Avoid passing through water on the road as you drive

bro if its red color its the oil pressure problem and its dangerous. you can ignore if its orange only.
suggest you get it checked asap.
