bro, for me the price is ok and reseonable. the most important thing is u feel the different after the parts change.

FYI, my first service cost me RM6k++ after 1 week bought my car,uhu...and after service got new problem sumore,uhu...

Hey bro, don't worry about it man. Just did my Inspection II at Ah Meng's also..... RM4K+! So why don't we split that maggi mee package :)

Just a little story here.... To be honest, I don't think Ah Meng is the cheapest. I would say his prices are OK, but you probably can find cheaper if you really look and bargain a bit. Certainly a lot more places are just as expensive.

But, I have never considered going to anyone else. Why? Here's a story:

Some time back on Valentine's Day at Saturday night around 8pm, my car couldn't start when I was outside. Yup, the scenario all of us dread. Stall at house also not so bad, but outside on a weekend at night....

Anyway, gave Ah Meng a call, he came over, diagnosed as fuel pump failure. Due to rush, he could only replace with 2nd hand pump which he told me to use first and then later on change at my convenience (which I used for 2 months before changing to new). At 9pm, I was good to go. My point being, at 8pm on a Saturday night Ah Meng was willing to come and help me out (he's at Subang, I was at Kepong) and fix my car. Others may have asked me to tow car to their place or leave car where it is and they'll come fix it on Monday. But Ah Meng went out of his way to help me out. Otherwise my whole weekend would have been spoilt.

Best part of story: when ask him how much, he said forget it, settle when I changed the new fuel pump. I also "pai seh" and paid him RM50 for his time and trouble.

So that's the story. I go to Ah Meng because he is generally a good sincere guy and I know if ever I get stuck on the highway at night with a stalled car, I can count on him.

Note: this is not a debate as to which mechanic is best. Others might be the same as well. All I'm saying is why I personally stick with Ah Meng.

Seems your price are reasonable bro. I did change all those parts last time and it still same price. Yeah maybe not the cheapest but still ok compare with some workshop like Stuggart,Ultra tune,M1,Auto Mobile Image and ofcourse Auto bavaria.

One more thing that you can feel the different after changing all the item. Not like some other mechanic where they ask you to change item a,item b and item c that cost u a lot but u cant feel anything..and the worse part is you just come to change the wiper at first.

And what happen to alxy was happen to me also last few month. Ah Meng come to his shop and wait for me on sunday night. If others mechanic, i dont think they will wait or layan you on sunday..esp on nite.

So what ever happen i will stick with MSPEED..because ah meng know to maintain my car and i'm happy with him as a friend.

I agree with you! I live in Penang and yet again I service my car all the way at Ah Meng's!! Though I know he's a bit on the expensive side, he knows how to take care of his customers.

As far as i concern...my drive is better. Thanks to Ah Meng...and thanks fro the story bro...So far i had no problem la...he seems honest to me too.

Just to share my experience. My car stalled in front of my girlfriend's place, just about to go out have dinner with her. Same situation like alxy. Meng himself come out and helped me by rushing to the place, from Subang Jaya to an outskirt of Cyberjaya at 10pm late in the evening! Just to fix a 2nd hand MAF sensor. I agree his price is a bit on high side, but he is one mechanic I can rely on. If you were tight on a budget, there's always a next time to change. If he asks you to change this and that, here and there, just tell him you will change it on the next visit. He's okay with it, sooner or later, the thing that he pointed you out will goes kaput and you need to change them anyway. :)

I can see he never overcharge you even if you are first timer, most of us that service there is getting around the same price as what he quoted you. some of us are his loyal customer for many years. hence, he's not those type that "potong" new customer and only give good price to old customers. If that is true also, its only RM 10-20 cheaper for loyal customers and I think its fair. apip agree or not :top:

Hi AlXY,
Can i have this ah meng hp no pls,
where is the workshop located...

thanks
Dominic

bro dominic, please search the threads as the address and directions to his place have been published a few times already. His hp is: Ah Meng/Kenny: 012 2098850

Looks like lots of good stories about Ah Meng. I also know one bad one which was discussed here some years back. To be fair to Ah Meng, you have to hear his side also (which he did tell me) if you read that thread.

Personally, I wish so many people did not say so many nice things about Ah Meng as this will give make his place more busy in future..... so more difficult to get appointments with him! :)

Am kidding.... good to know there are still guys like him around.

Just one more point to add: from my experience and my friends, somehow Ah Meng has an uncanny ability to "predict" the future. We've had some experiences (like bro afifazhanee says) where Ah Meng recommends some changes or XXX will happen. And true enough, we didn't change and some time later, XXX did happen. So listen to Ah Meng, if he says change, you better consider. Normally I will change if XXX is stalled car or cannot start. Others non-critical things can wait until conk...
