E46 Axle bush replacement...any opinion???

Salam...Hi all...need your opinion guyz...my axle bush was crack...so i must replace it as well...so i juz go to workshop and asking for the price quotation...bcoz ive no experience to replace it beforeso this is the list...
  • axle bush (big) @ RM 150.00
  • axle bush (small) @ RM 120x2 = RM 240.00
  • Coupling 105x2 = RM 210.00
  • Labour charge = RM 200.00
  • Foundry charge = RM 120.00
  • Axle oil @ RM 23 x 3L = RM 69.00
Total charges = RM 989.00 so i must spent around 1k to do this...is it reasonable???TQVM for helping me... :top:
 
bro, i thought your problem is the axle bush only. big one or small one or both?

is the coupling and axle oil giving you problem too??

fyi, what i was shown by the mechanic is big bush, and small bush was cracked already...
im also heard the sound likes "keduk,keduk" behind while im driving to 'lopak' or when i want to reverse my car...

but they didnt show me about the coupling cracked...and juz mention into the quotation only...huh!

anyway about the oil, the told me that once it dismantled the oil must be changed@topup...
 
I think it is reasonable to change all the rubber bushings as they all relatively have the same lifespan. If one failed, it is recommend to change the others even there is no sign of failure.

You can opt not to change it but would most probably end up going to the workshop a few months later to change the other side.

In accordance to BMW recommendation, eg.. Inspection I and Inspection II, things are changed even when they are still in working condition.

Wahhh ... Bro the axle oil takes 1 litre only (change mine using redline 75W-90 expensive but worth it imo) Plus changing the axle bush doesn't require opening the axle case hence why did your mechanic say must change lerrr but it's a good idea nevertheless to change it every 50k miles.
also what is a Foundry charge???

I even think like that bro...my frenz said that, changing all the rubber bush in penang cost not more than 1.5k...but here the cost can reach to 2k ma...huh ! :eek:

they said that to changing the bush must bring it to foundry...coz some part must be solder @ foundry...huh! i dont think so...huhuhu...:stupid:

what do u think???

I think you should run away as fast and as far as possible from your mechanic bro lol Seriously!!!!
