Hi all,
Recently my idrive software was updated to a new and latest version (B3.41.CO) during my service interval. Well before that, I was told that my fuel pump ECU was faulty and had to be replaced. And the new software needed to be updated in order to be able to start the car because it was claimed that my fuel pump ECU was faulty possibly because of my GPS SMARTSTART device to has the fuel cutoff. I had that device but had not been renewing it for years.
Questions:
1. Could the GPS device cause the fuel pump ECU to be faulty though I have not enable the GPS service for years?
2. And was it necessary the newest or latest software to be updated if I have change my fuel pump ECU in order to make it work as in able to start the car?
3. I lost some of the functions in idrive due to software upgrade above ie. Door locks, speed limiter, etc. Does the new software does not have these functions available?
Pls help.
Thank you.
