Having owned second hand BMWs for the last 15 years, i was very happy to have finally purchased a new Bimmer.

Although the smell of new leather doesn't seem to be as strong as what i always imagined it to be. It was pleasant all the same.

Barring any unforeseen circumstances, i hope to keep my car for the next 9 years until I'm 55 years old after which i intend to threat myself again to another new car. God willing.

I hope to share that journey with all of you with the hope that it will inspire more to embark on a similar journey to mine.

Enjoy the ride.

Whilst washing my car today, i realised that i got a minor stone chip. That was fast. Within the first 24 hours.

Anyway, i had decided earlier to get the paint coating done. That will have to be Tuesday as most shops closed for Labour Day holiday.

Will let you guys know how that turns out with pics of course.

Thats great bro!! A before/after comparison wld be nice.....

Pics. Coming soon. Still need to get used to all the tech. For now, I'm just enjoying the drive.

In a normal working day, my commute to and from office is about half an hour each way. I'm looking forward to enjoying that commute even more.

My initial observations having driven the car for 100km now is that it's very quiet and comfortable. I've been on comfort mode all along and it's just fantastic.

If you are in your late forties and early fifties and looking to reward yourself, i think this would be the perfect car.

Looking forward to taking it on the highway after I've done say 2000km?

Any tips on breaking in the car?

Running in directions in the Manual, pg 264

Up to 2000km

Do not exceed the maximum engine revs and speed

With petrol engines, 4500rpm and 160kmh

Avoid full load or kick down

From 2000km onwards,

Engine and road speeds can be gradually increased.

Driving through floods,

Pg 266 of the Manual says only drive through water up to a depth of 25cm or 9.8 inches and at a speed no faster than 5kmh.

Bro Anxious, time to turn blue (as official member) and join our drives too! You have been around in the forum since 2004?

start a G30 group! Perhaps one day i join that group.

Agree with beemerback, you should join us as an official member.

As for the stone chip, coating will not help. My advise, since you gonna use the car for 9 years, get the paint protection films (PPF) to get ptotection from stone chips. Many shops doing. If you ask my recommendations, i would recommend Magnus Pro. They do a great job for my friends. Just mention my name (Danny) and ask for a discount.

Enjoy the ride. Another day another drive!

Wow! Congrats! Black Sapphire Welcome to the dark side..

Stone chips, I use nail polish to touch up..

Hi Guys. Just got mine too after driving second hand E60 for 4 years. Had to settle for white cause could not wait for the Black any longer. (Also have a Black Car at home already) Nice smooth driving. Already did some short distance Hi Rev when mileage is less than 500km. Haha.

Also got an offer for coating at RM2000 from Tint Shop with 2 years warranty. IS the price ok?

Congrats! Love the "storage box" (in between driver and front passenger) on G30. BMW finally getting rid of the "spectacularly-stupid-and-useless" phone cradle and gave us usable space!

I know i'm a little late but congratulations on your new ride Anxious! I've been following your posts from the time you were deciding on the F10 or to wait for the G30. I think you did the right move
