I'd really really wish to join the Melaka drive (even without my lil pony), even my wife would love to join (ya I know this = no Mpower), BUT we've got tight schedule on Saturdays nowadays, family commitments.

Bro bmw7833, the a la E60 side M5 grill is GOOD. This make the ride look a bit more like a wannabe, can avoid cucuks.
Or simply swap fender with 520i, how does that sound? hehe.
Anyway I JUST realized this is not part of the original E39 package

I have problem 1.5 on your list as well, better get it done asap to avoid it exploding all over the center console. I will be sending it to www.radar-mirror.com for the fix. They quoted $135USD including shipping which is cheaper than Sybesmas ($175USD).

Thanks for the tip bro. After taking it out, what would you be using as replacement temporarily? Would any mirror from the same model do even though the shape is different? If yes I could probably use my trapezoid-shape rearview mirror from my other E39.

On another note, Sybesmas claims after their repair there'll be no more leakage as they replace the electrochromatic stuff with some electronics. Whereas radar-mirror.com says they simply repair and replace whatever's broken inside which means there would be chances that the mirror may leak again sometime in the future.

Anybody any clue?

Actually Sybesmas repairs by replacing parts from the same supplier of the failed parts (Magna Donnelly) whereas radar-mirror replaces theirs with Gentex which is why I have decided to go with them. Both repairers use a new Gel type replacement if I'm not mistaken.

AFAIK you can use regular E39/E46 mirrors temporarily.
