Multi-function steering

I have a multi-function steering which I intend to install. Some questions...1. I heard that the cruise control feature can be activated, is it true?2. Where can I get the steering installed?3. How much?4. What other stuff do I need to get those buttons working?thanks!

AB and most independent UDM mechanics will tell you it is not possible to install. Fact is it can be done. E46 1999 onwards should have the wiring preinstalled. However if it is not, I have the wiring diagram and Carl Benz should be able to do it.

OK guys. Let me pass the wiring diagrams to Mr. Koo of Carl Benz and reconfirm he can do it. The last I spoke to him about a month ago, he told me if he has the wiring diagram, he can do it...and I believe him. This guy is very good with bimmers and maintains both my cars. Problem is he is usually busy (on the mobile) and you have to keep pushing him to get things done. If any of you guys send you car over to him, always insist that he personally attend to your car (if it is a major issue). Minor stuff his other boys can handle.

Carl Benz is at Kelana Jaya/Kg. Cempaka (Taikong)...you know from Kelana seafood centre head towards Damansara (LDP), after Shell station on left (and Giant on right) up the fly-over....down the flyover, keep left and turn left (first left immediately after coming down flyover and a church)....go straight short distance to a small round-about...take 9 o'clock and Carl Benz is on your left (in-side road).

Anyway, I have just passed the wiring diagram to Mr. Koo and he will confirm tomorrow. If anyone of you guys want to try with your own mechanic, PM me and I will email the wiring diagram to you. It's simple with lots of pictures to guide you along.

If it can be done, I have 2 spare units of 3 spoke sports steering wheel with multi-function available which I am thinking of putting up for auction and proceeds to go to a charity - Persatuan Penjagaan Kanak-Kanak Cacat, Klang.
