Hi All,It is time to replace my car battery. Was told the recommanded battery for E36 is DIN66. However I planned to install ICE which consist of two amp, thus my question is........can i fit anything higher than DIN66? Any effect on the electronic if i put in a bigger battery. Thanks.

DIN66 is the right size. If you are getting an MF battery make sure it really is a maintenance-free battery. Many companies claim that their battery is MF but actually is low maintenance. A true MF battery does not have any filler caps for filling battery water and lasts longer than the normal batteries.

If you are running 2 Amps then why do you need a bigger battery? If your ICE power consumption is large then you probably need a higher rating alternator. I dont think its advisable to put in a bigger battery coz the battery compartment is a just fit for you current battery.

Get a battery which is enough to crank your car, this is the main function of a battery.

Get a MF battery with Expanded Ca-Ca technology.

Pardon my ignorance but what's the significance in 'Expanded Ca-Ca' technology? :dunno:

hmm isnt 'caca' french for shit kekkekkek
If I'm not mistaken, it's not French but Spanish as in 'kaka toro' or "bull shit" but Ca-Ca could also mean calcium (from the table of elements)cathode. :)

Low maintainance / Hybrid battery - Gravity cast (using gravity caster/concast machine) with Calcium-Alloy on Negative plates only.

Maintainance free - Expanded metal (using strip caster) with Calcium-Alloy on both Negative & Positive plates.

The significant difference between Ca-Ca/Ca-Silver (just launched in conjunction with Bosch) is the way the grid is formed, thus resulting different chemical structure.
