My set of old leather Recaros needed cleaning real bad. There are already cracks in a few places, so obviously the leather was feeling a little crispy too.Enter Meguiars Gold Class Rich Leather Cleaner/Conditioner. Massage into leather with foam applicator, and buff off excess product with a clean cloth.

Tested it on the seat backs and headrests, which seemed to have the bulk of the dirt.See before and after. The difference is quite obvious. Note that the side panels and the pocket below were not cleaned.

This is the amount of dirt picked up from those two areas alone

The passenger seat back pocket has some mildewy looking spots... limited success here. Maybe I needed to use more product.

Had much better results on the driver's side pocket

Overall, this stuff is fairly effective at removing light to moderate soiling on leather. Subjectively, the leather feels slightly less crispy after a good going over with the product. Again, i used the product quite sparingly, so maybe you'd get better moisturising effect with more product. My verdict: PERFORMS AS ADVERTISED.

For those really tough stain like mild dew, fungus or the like, you might want to consider cleaning them with a mild solution of APC with a soft brush (eg. shoe brush) before going for the leather cleaner/conditioner. But remember to rinse well or wipe a few times with damp cloth to remove any residue of the detergent.

Anyway, good show there and thanks for sharing.

Regards.

Wow, nice write up bro. Good work with restoring the leather to it's former glory. :top:
