Hi fellow forummers,Sent car to check last weekend - lower arm joint was a bit shaky (item 5, 10). Am looking for a replacement - any idea how much it'll cost  , and where I can get it? Was told had to replace the whole arm, and not only the bush - is that true?I'm from Kuching but have people visiting KL quite regularly. Thanks! Rgds.

you should get this stuff from singapore. cheaper there and worth your effort i think!

Yup! The ball join comes with the whole arm. Cost around RM500 only. (Aluminium set) without labour charge. Everythng will be good as new after you replaced.

Yup, got it from Bavarian Auto for RM500 or RM550. Just replaced mine last two months.

Yup,can confirm around that price. For E36 even cheaper.about S$300/pair + labor. Had mine replaced a couple of weeks ago. Jeff, can help you ask the sg ori price if you want.

I tot E46 is the y-shape control arm - not the older design with upper & lower arms? This items costs RM1,500 approx per pair inclusive labour last time, doesn't it?

are we sayin' the same unit?? The arm is connected to the boost. which can be seen under the car. Price RM500 comfirmed. (not from Auto Bavaria) Out side workshop will only give such price. But its all supply by Bavarian Auto, so normally they'll rub off the BMW logo.

500 bucks is probably for the lower arm bush only la...
it comes in a pair.

3er was selling a pair of powerflex bush, i think.

Hi guys,
I just changed mined last month for both the item 6 and 7 two side, u have to change the arm and the bushing together to save the cost of chnage again next time, i pay for RM1400 two side in jln ipoh inclusive of labour.

NO, YOU DON'T HAVE TO REPLACE THE WHOLE WISHBONE unless its bent. It's made of cast iron and won't be damaged so easily. OF COURSE WILL SAY HAVE TO REPLACE WHOLE THING = $$$

The ball joints and bushing CAN BE REPLACED. They have spares for all the ball joints and bushing.

I replaced mine.

Disclaimer : This is for E36, E46 I got no idea.

E36 and E46 are different where the later uses aluminium arms and hence you cant pump out the ball joints and bush. Have to replace the whole thing. Also newer E46 has a bigger mounting (item 6) which supposedly last longer than the original. Normally with labour to replace the arms, it will cost in the region of RM 1400, as I normally see the owners pay at the workshop :)

I say man! Thanks for the enlightenment AlBundy. No wonder the bros here have different prices quoted. Its still a Tuesday..... :p

Per set? Or 1 side only?

Mine's 2 piece - had it jacked up and had a look. Damn the ball joint was shaky! No wonder my steering feels like jelly at above 100!
