Lower arm bushing replacement

Anyone know any workshops that specialise in replacing worn suspension bushing. My regular mech told me the front lower arm bushing is dead and I need to replace the whole lower arm. I found a few guides online on how to DIY "change bushing" but I dont have the proper tools. From what i can see, the lower arm bush should be a separate unit from the lower arm so that means its replaceable.My regular mech insist I change the whole lower arm + new bush (1 set).

Go to MPS Auto @ Sunway as I recently replaced my lower arm bush (right & left bush). Bought the bushes from Bavarian Auto (RM135.00) and labor charges RM140.00 by MPS Auto.

herbert,are you sure it's the lower arm(12) and not upper arm(5)?the lower arm bushes hardly wear out.my previous e34 was sold with the ori lower control arm bushes still good.the upper arm aka thrust arm bushes(6) normally wears out.and the last i asked,they don't sell the lower arm bushes separately but is sold as part of the whole lower arm.

You are right, it was the bush for the uppper arm.

Hmm, that could explain why my mech insist on changing the whole lower arm. Thanks for the pointer. I try to get a second opinion from another workshop regarding this.

yup moots is correct on the lower and upper arms. I changed my lower arms 2 months back cause the bush koyak di. need to change whole thing. but for the upper arm, can change the bush only. I changed the upper arm bush as well. much better handling. :rock:

mechs normally say must change arm as it is easier to do so. take out bolt and no need pump bush out and in. Then again, u must see if the ball joint is still in good shape, if yes, then it's worth changing only bush. If not, sooner or later also need do again. Only this time is arm + labour again. When getting arm, make sure to get ori Lemforder. lots of fake out there.

Bro lamer2000, i'm facing the same issue at the moment. How much did the mech quoted u? Mine is rm840 for both left and right plus another rm120 for labour. I'm driving the e92.

Have anyone tried or used superflex bush brand...i was recommended to use it as it is high performance bush that suitable for my 335..cost 1 pair left and right RM 480 w/o installation.. Any commment is appreciated..
