welcome. sri hartamas puts you in fairly close proximity with segambut so your options would include

M1
BM Auto
Zenden motorworks

i have serviced my car at M1 before and found them be competent. don 't know bout the other two though

there are a coupla places in jalan ipoh as well
let me know if u need any details
i m afraid i don t know any workshops in sri hartamas for beemers

I go to Benson Auto in SS2 (same row of shops as that restaurant with giant hanging duck!). It's a smallish outfit but always pretty busy. Though they service all cars, the proprietor, Mr. Liang drives an E39 528i and is quite the cifoo on BMWs. He has a knack for diagnosing all sorts of problems and fixing 'em speedily. The parts they use are original, usually sourced from Bavarian Auto or Stuttgart depending on pricing. I find these guys so much more convenient and cheaper than going to AB or M1.

Many thanks, er.. fellas ( i assume FLY is a fella). I am one of those ladies who give women a bad name when it comes to pampering my car. But my redemption (according to my chauvinistic friends) lies in the way I drive i.e like a man (the only other catergory of women drivers being women who should never be allowed on the roads, much less given a driver licence). I suppose that s a compliment of sorts. I will check out the places suggested. Got address-ah? I don't know where they hang the giant duck in SS2.

At the risk of sounding stupid, how long does a car service take? I usually get mine dropped off in the morning and returned/collected by end of the day.

'SS2 giant duck' is presumably der 1 hung outside a shop selling duck & rice somewher in der middle of der row of shophses along SS2/66.

UDM Service: Amount of time taken depends on the job(s)/ amount of thing u want looked into or done to your UDM and their nature/intricacies.
These works may b simple, extensive or complex. If it's a simple 1, u could go off in 2 shakes & if it's complex/ extensive, it could take even a whole day or more.
But if u take your UDM in on der right day of der week it would usually take 1-3 hours (avoiding Saturdays & week b4 public holidays).

Newbies: Go to the General Forums section, look for 'Newbies'. Once in there, u r may post whatever u want to introduce yourself. Additionally, u may attend the Official Weekly tts on Fridays (now at Showru restaurant, Kelana Jaya).
Look for the other members' posts on directions to Showru.

Man used to be one of the guys who hangs out in kosas, and yes, he has the knowledge as there lotsa technical discussion during those days

M Speed has come highly recommended among forummers. Is it still the case? What about the charges? Have gone to the shop a few times but each time, they will find some fault in my car and advised me to change the parts. On occasions, they do say some changes can wait or can be repaired.

A friend changed his E46 318 fuel pump for $600++. is that abt right?

So need an update on their service. What's the general consensus on M Speed?
