Hi all.. im new here after I read so many thread in this forums about tintingI narrow down to 3 choice. Some say llumar some say vkool some say 3m and some say above 3 also not smart tag friendly. What is recommended by sifu sifu here.I will want a tint for me new f30 328i is priority must be good workmanship is very important. 1) good heat resistant2) dark colour (my car is black)3) smart tag friendly. 4) security anti smash (not important)Thanks for all sifu information as I leave in jb.will going to kl tonight. Just wanna know if it posible to do in a good place in kl.once again thanks for help.sorry for my bad grammar.

If I'm not mistaken, any tint film with high IRR will not be smart tag friendly. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Having said that, the Infrared light is primarily responsible for the heat you feel when driving. So, there is always a catch 22 when you needed a good heat resistant yet smart tag friendly film. What the installer will normally do is they will leave a small square hole at the tint film located at the top of your windscreen at the driver side, where they will covered it up will a 8" black strip. You won't notice there is a hole there. This is to allow you to point/locate your smart tag so that the device can received the IR signal from the toll booth.

Item 4 not compulsary I assume? Go for Huper Optik, tick all the boxes.

I was in the same shoe 2 weeks ago for windscreen film. Finally decided on v-kool because for front windscreen, v-kool has the highest heat rejection, around 46%. Really feel the different after staying under the hot sun for hours. Only downside is you need to have a cut out for signal to come in.

Where can I find a huper optik dealer in jb? I went to 3m just now and they offer me crystaline 40 for the whole car for rm 1800. But he told me that front screen smart tag cant pass. Have to leave a hole near the center area near the mirror... should I try to visit huper optik 1st? But cant find any dealer in jb.

All the major brands are more or less of the same quality. Just go for the one that's on promotion now.

My tint is 90% IRR and 6 mm thick - no problem with smart tag. If you don't go for high IRR, it will be hot. Don't go for brands rather go for specifications

Finally I chose huper optik c40 whole car. Done in Mcool Kulai JB.
superb workmanship and service with reasonable price for bmw forums member.
done it with blue colour headlight protector layer, fog light and also side mirror indicator. Add on fog light super white bulb.
all in total damage below rm 2000.
The boss told me that only huper optik tint come with JpJ and trafik saman guarantee. If u got cought just tell them to issue saman so they will pay for u with an receipt. In case if JPJ peel your tint they will do it for u free. Only apply on C40 and above. C30 and c20 not cover. Cheers. So happy. Smart tag friendly.
