Fellow BMW owners. I am sure, some of you would have noticed by now that there is quite alot of hot air floating around in this forum. Mostly half truths and the misunderstanding of mechanical knowledge. Members new and old seek information in designated forums, they are here to obtain the correct answers, may they be good or bad. No point getting non-sensical advice. It's both useless and stupid. If they wanted a sales pitch, then they could have just read the description on the box. Let's give the honest and actual truth to the experiences that we had dealt with. Non of that bias crap. Also, it seems moderators do not like to be proven wrong. So they delete posts that make them look bad. Now, do we want such bastardization of the truth?

Hear! Hear! Yes sometime it is frustrating to see the myth becomes the truth just because enough people mentioned or talk about it.
However, I think we should not to be too critical because a myth can become a legend. Just take everythings you read or heard with a pinch of salt..

I do believe that everybody is entitled to their opinion. I don't see any reason to be critical as long as they do it with good faith.

It is just the BMW brand make people think it is a good brand.Get over it. Tax impose make them expensive even they crap.

A lot people buy BMW nowadays because of the "blue and white" and it as well known status. I must say some of the BMW series is crap and people still buy it , later few month on the road they bitch around , and indeed yes some of them give big hoo haa on crap machine.

Machine will break regardless how you deal with it. Live with it or without it.

there's no need to justify one's actions in purchasing/installing a mod.. if good for u, then its good for u.. but when people question/argue, no need to get hyped-up and get all upset about it..

when people question some of my mods, to me its just opinion.. some people prefer orange to apple.. there's absolutely no need to pls everybody..

Yes Adam, i agree with you to a certain point.

The person mentioning about a certain mod does need to realise that there needs to be a level of common sense involved when proposing a mod.

For example, an air box and muffler is not going to gain 20hp. Even though it 'may' feel like it due to the acustic enhancement.

A voltage stabilizer or a family of 4 voltage stabilizers is not going to give better fuel economy. That's just stupid.

So let's use some common sense here.

So let's see how long it take before this post get deleted.

By the look of it u dunno Lee personally, well I do, he is a very meticulous guy and he keeps record of his petrol and mileage and analyse them very religiously
so when he says there is an improvement, I believe him, but if you think he is an idiot you dont have to tell the whole world how smart you are by letting us know you discovered one, pls keep it to yourself.

I am just using an example about voltage stabilizers, maybe i should have brought up the myth that a ACS muffle will give 15hp?

As i mentioned before, the lack of use of common sense is obvious. So if you do believe in the claims, by all means. I am just trying to shed further light onto the subject that reducing the voltage fluctuations is not going to improve on the fuel economy.

As you have mentioned that he's very merticulous with his record keeping, and based on those figures after each tankful of gas, his claims for better fuel economy is solid evidence?!!!????

I will believe that if his throttle position during each and every tankful, together with the same operating/ambient temp, distance travelled, route was identical.

i used to play fair in here. Until you lot of moderators decided to close an eye to the malice of one of your fellow members towards me.

So in the defense of myself, i proved that your Ace99 was a spineless loser, who should not be called a man for his cowardly actions. A person that is not able to stand up for himself and support his false and offensive words to me. Till today, he has made the choice of dissappearing from this forum, a place where his sad life revolves around. Looking forward to organising TTS so that he can be seen with other human beings.

So during that fiasco, did i ever once had a moderator warn him of his words to me? Did any of you moderators delete his postings until it was too late? I am very sorry but your creditability is of no worth here.

IMHO, so long as one's opinion is bona fide and made without malice, one shouldn't be taken to task.

One need not agree with others' opinions but the way to do it I guess would be by way of courteous discourse rather than getting personal or resort to name calling.

With respect, I don't think Lee deserves the aspersions cast on him - I wouldn't call somebody stupid just because I disagree with his opinion.

I'd also be mindful of defamation suits.

IMHO, I am sorry to say that this thread have turn into a personal vendetta.

Threads or postings that promote discords among forummers will/can be towed to a place by any forummer who have moderating right, where it is only accessible or seen by authorised people . It is NOT deleted. The post will then be reviewed by all the committee, advisor and moderators. If the thread / posting is deemed offensive by the majority votes, the offender will be send a PM of his/her offence. If the majority find that it is acceptable, then it will be towed back to its original forum.

I do not know what the grand fuss here is.

In a forum, people exchange ideas on what they think. if you do not agree, you can disagree politely based on facts or even your own opinion. if you are not able to do that, your posts will be deleted not because sides are taken but the fact that you had been rude. In any case, rude people are always ignored. This is a ladies and gentlemen club. We have standards to maintain.

As this thread was initiated due to some disagreements over an almost year old matter and has cross the line by far by roping in the unrelated personal tiff with another forumer, it is quite clear that this thread does not benefit the club or other forum members. Hence, this thread is now closed and will be soon deleted.
