That is your problem than. Never ever use this gear box because it cant be repaired. ZF is always the best.

geofrey i dont quite get it, when should the rpm drop and when should it go back up? tombstone.... how u know that is my car? lool. but seriously, how u know?

Try to notice this when you on your friend's car.. On N position (800rpm) and when shift to D, the rpm will drop to 650rpm but within a second it goes back to 800rpm. Does your car react the same way?

im not sure, will have to check it out. so does the rpm actually have to change?

I have a similar feeling on my E30 auto. But it's not dramatic enough for me to think something is wrong. I feel the same thing on my E36 (A) as well.

to some people.... the sinking of the backside when you engage D is a characteristic of E36 and they are proud to have it ;)

Unless u put in super hard back suspension, then it won't happen but what u get is a kangeroo when you go thru speed bumps.

p.s.
i have it too when i set my springs for comfort! so live with it and spend all that brain power to enhance your ride more! :D
