wow.....and how about the maintenance to keep it?issit cheap to maintain?hehe

Err, how to summarise maintenance for the car... The car's mechanically sound. Quite decent performance from the engine. Recently changed the thermostat for the radiator, so the car doesn't need topping up very frequently.

Other than the usual fuel costs, I suppose there isn't that many costs that should be incurred. Unless you consider getting the car a respray to get rid of the unsightly acid stains on the roof & bonnet.

Bro...no regrets. Although there is little that I can comment on a 740iL.

Lights are exactly like mine, i.e. DEPO aftermarket, except it is black and mine is silver

All else, no issue. Pls keep the car stock standard. I've learnt that in order to have the Ultimate feel of the 38, pls dont do anything out of spec. But again, this is a personal choice that will come with compromise. My 2 cents worth. The racun is certainly very hard to resist.....

Thanks for your feedback SSMANN. Really looking forward to driving it. I'm sure it'd definitely be an unforgettable one. :top:

I'll definitely keep the car stock for the foreseeable future, besides the itch to change the rims to something much nicer. :D

Actually, to be more precise, keep the engine stock. Mod the hell out of making it:-

1. handle better - upgrade suspension system, lighter shoes, anti roll bars etc. etc.
2. look better - that one no need to detail lar... just check out Ssmann's thread. There's enuf poison there to send your wallet into chapter 11..... LOL!!

my 2 cents also...

haha... 4 cents liao.... :D

Mine now no more ultimate feel already...japanese feel got lar

Congrats again bro :top:

Besides the 740iL for 40K, have you considered Unker Vince contact 728i for 42k? I think that's a good price though. :)

Hahaha. Yes Andrew. I get what you mean. :D Stock engine would do wonders. Owner told me he replaced the original hydraulics with stock suspension. So I suppose no need to worry about forking out thousands just to remedy faulty hydraulics then?

Hehe, yeah. SSMANN's thread is a shining beacon for E38 owners! :top:

Andrew, are you coming for this Friday's TT? :D

Yeah, good thing he replaced the self leveling suspension system... I heard it is very expensive to replace. I feel the stock suspension is perfect for cruising around, but on shall we say more "spirited" drives... scary lor... hahah!!

Ya lor.. that SSMANN fella... always blame me for starting the poison.... I just give small sample only.... but that fella open buffet spread..... :D

This Friday will try to come again... last Friday was a disaster... only got home past 11pm... by then.. to zonked out to go out...

Haha. Thanks B33Mer bro. Should catch up with you again soon. Saw Enkil last week at the Papparich TT. Come la this Friday! Talk kok, sing song again like the old days. :D

Bring your E46 monster la... Sure got ppl interested in seeing the 330i... :top:

PS: The car in the first pic looks way too bling for me. :D VIP look doesn't match E38 lor.

Yeah. I am certain the E38 will be a much better drive than the E32. :top:

Spirited driving ah.. Erm. See la. Judging from the size of my kahunas, I doubt I'll be terrorising the roads with the E38 anytime soon. Can't wait to have a go though. Just wanna feel for myself just how refined and comfortable this car is.

Once a Bimmer driver, always a Bimmer driver. Although I still have a major soft spot for older Jags. :D

Hehe, hope to see your red E38 this Friday bro. Last Friday's TT was quite a relative success in terms of attendees, since many new faces showed up, me included. :D

IMHO, I think the E32 is much sportier and raw car to drive compared to E38. It's the same feeling between the generations of BMW between the 80s and 90s. Both build were in different era and philosophy. Both have it's own appeal. Having both generations E32 and E38 makes no regret. But newer is always better at the end of the day. Age does matter at the end of the day.

Agree with you..different era,different cars,different philosophy..

Hoping to go that way soon...very happy with my E32 now..not considering to sell it even though there have been offers already..one guy offered RM30K on the spot..

Will look for a E38 in the next 2 years..need to sort out my parking before can get it as my Home minister already up in arms when I even broached the subject..he he he..:D

Cheers :)

Thanks for your highly valued opinion Elwine. I do admit that having only driven the E32 so far, of course I'd be very tempted to say that it's been one awesome ride. I will always have a soft spot for E32s, since they're not that many on our roads sadly.

But, that's what made it so special. I revelled in the way the car responded to every little input I made to the steering and accelerator. Sure, it was nigh on heavy beast, but boy, was it a really capable performer. This car is not meant to win any drag races, nor compete with boy racers, but boy oh boy did it come up with the goods when you need it the most. :top:

I do admit that I am very reluctant to let the E32 go, but my parents seem adamant that it's about time for a change. I still adore the driver-centric dashboard of the E32, and I really love the timeless shape. It may not get as many loving glances like it's younger E38 brother, but boy did it command some semblance of respect from those who truly appreciate fine German machinery. :top:

I am definitely thankful to have experienced such a wonderful ride so early in my formative years, that it has left an everlasting impression on me.
