is it fan clutch problem?

hi all sifu there,everytime when i start my car 525 year 2002 there was a sound from the fan "voom",sound like the fan running in the high speed...but only take 2 to 3 minute the sound gone,my mechanic said that is that sound come from the fan not the auto fan.it is the fan near the engine..is it normal?i try to opened the bonet to hear the sound it scary..
