Insane rattling

Is the search function broken? anyway..There is a "metal on metal" rattling noise coming from the rear passenger side on my 94 E36. I've removed the rear seats, C-pillar trim, emptied the boot but the problem persists.Afraid its the absorber however I dont see a leak. Any ideas?, read some horror stories that a rattle could be the rear subframe!
