Any one has any idea on the probable list price for F30?Published list price for current E90 for reference:325i - RM309,800.00320d - RM260,800.00F30320d - RM 267,000.00? (slight increase over the old price)320i - RM 265,000.00? (similar to Merc C200 CGi and Audi A4 1.8TFSI). If BMW Malaysia offer this model, 320d will be hard to sell. Based on paper figure, despite the torque advantage of 380Nm (320d) over the 270Nm (320i), both performance figures are similar. The advantage of money saving in fuel also not that significant. Say combined cycle 320d = 4.5l/100km and 320i = 6.2l/100km. An additional 1.7l/100km, say over 100,000km (~5years drive), 320d's fuel price = 4500liter x RM1.80 = RM8,100.00 and 320i's fuel price = 6200liter x RM1.90 = RM11,780. Difference of RM3,680.00. I guess most people will go for 320i and giving impactful second hand value to the loyal BMW customers who bought the E90 320d.328i - RM320,000.00? (undercut the 211bhp, 350Nm 7sp A4 2.0TFSI abit, considering MMI option costing additional RM13,000.00, while F30 i-drive with Navigation is standard feature). Also at this level, there is also a considerable gap of RM13,000.00 comparing with in house 520d. If price too close to 520d, hard to sell. Just my humble opinion....

Enclosed herewith the engine spec for F30, for reference.

i think the E90 320d boys will go for the F30 328i.....only logical. Or stick with their current E90.....unless they really want to get the F30 320d. What is up ypur mind, morrogan bro?

Doc, I totally agree with you. Logically, current E90 320d owner can only opt for upgrade to the new F30 328i which give much better performance minus the unpleasant engine clatter. So end up, who is going to buy those used E90 320d? If potential owner can wait for F30, they will most probably take on the 320i. Same performance with the 320d, again minus the unpleasant engine clatter. In a way, the 320d will lost its continuity......just like the brilliant 850i.

I seriously doubt majority of current E90 320d owner will "upgrade" to F30 320d. Despite the provision of Twin Scroll Turbo, same performance figures. The extra money will buy you a new design look and new 8sp gearbox and your precious contribution to the environment due to lower consumption and emission.

For poor people like me, i just have to sit and wait for the best opportunity to grap the really last ultimate batch of E90 320d, when the F30 is officially out in Malaysia.

Side track a bit, are you or Albundy in the BMW Malaysia's pricing committee? I better not talk so much, nanti kena screw...

Well 328i is the logical upgrade choice but some reviewers are saying the new 320d is better than the 328i!

My motoring journalist friend says the 328i is the car to go for after testing it in Spain. But of course, let's wait and see and test them ourselves! It will be a tough close call I suspect. The thread F30 320d vs f30 328i will probably be almost 50:50 in terms of people for each model. Unlike the 320d vs 325i thread where 95% of the forummers were the 320d guys making all the chatter! hee hee....

wondering if the 328 will be sub 300k. Since its a 2 litre engine and the taxes will be lower

Seriously don't think BMW(M) will price it that cheap. Same logic goto Merc C250CGi. 1.8liter somemore. Why want to cut own pocket while can earn more naturally?

It is quite impossible that new F30's pricing is lower or the same as current E90 if comparing model designation ie. E90 320d vs F30 320d. Unless, BMW Malaysia think enough is enough will all these ridiculously high pricing. But then, this is only wishful thinking

Based on all the current releases, the 1 series / A1 will begin to occupy the lower 200k while the 3 series / A4 / C class will occupy the mid to top 200k region. Sigh... No more value for money anymore.

Seeing the massive depreciation of BMW cars (exception of Golf GTi), better I go line up for the last generation of E90 320d. But last I check with SA, no more Liao. All new orders sold already. No more stock with BMW Malaysia.

In the UK...they went the F30 320d proces went up 1 thousand pounds to 29K pounds for the 320d sports model compared with the same E90 car. So we would see also perhaps a 8-10,000 MR increase?

In the US, the base price for the 2012 328i Sedan is $34,900 and the 335i Sedan is $42,400. This represents a $300 and $350 base price increases versus the outgoing model.

Seems to be a small increase in the US .... so I guess it all depends on what BMW Malaysia view their market here ... Perhaps it will also depends how the sales performance of the existing 3 series compare to the C and A4 ...

Most probaby F30 328i will be price below current E90 325i price like 528i (from 449800 down to 409800)
due to smaller size engine. I guess it will be very close to Merc C250 GGI price.

Lets hope so.

I wonder if the 328i will be brought in with multiple trim levels(Luxury,Modern,Sport) or just one ie Msport trim.

Most probably wont have M-Sports as base on info , they will only start production in
europe from july-2012 onwards.

Hopefully BMW MY will specs the car better.

Bro CK318ci indicated that Sg is selling SG228k for the new F30 328i. So based on traditional imperical conversion formula, new F30 328i (CBU) should be selling ~RM300k. SKD version might go down to ~RM260K (factor of 1.14x).
