Picture 1 is the facelifted and picture 2 is the non facelifted. Facelifted was produced starting from the yr 2002 while non facelifted from 99 till 02

Bro you really need to read some info on the E46 first, because from what you are asking there's not much that you know, yet.

As for the difference, there are:

Pre-facelift VS facelift

Non-Vanos, Single Vanos and Double Vanos

M43, M52, M52TU, M54, S54 engines

1.8, 1.9, 2.0, 2.2, 2.5, 2.8, 3.0, 3.2 engines

Sedan, Compact, Convertible, Coupe, Touring

Se (Standard) VS Sport

and so much more difference from car to car.

As for the sunroof, depends on the car spec rather than model.

According to the picture both car are facelift and pre-facelift. U have to makesure what is the manufactured year stated in the reg card. The facelift can be old model which changed the hood, headlights, mudguard and bumper.

Cant trust the registration card, need to check on Realoem for manufacture year.
