I got cheated!!!!

Here's my story:My mistake was not doing a thorough research in this forum before doing a Progman for my E60... on Monday 10 Nov 2008, my car was sent to do Progman in order to upgrade the software from original v25 to v30. I want to have the "AuxIn" on my iDrive screen... this is because I wanted to install an Interface, Garmin GPS system and DVD player to my car.I'd been told by the audioshop boss that it would cost me about RM2200 for the whole upgrade which practically took the whole day. This was quoted by the BMW workshop that he normally sent all BMW cars to. The whole process was smooth but right now I am sure that most of you have realised that I'd been conned right???A fellow forumer, chookleng, had his E60 updated to v31.5 at another workshop for just only RM350!!! and it was 2 days after my car was updated. The workshop owner still had the ball to tell me that his software was the latest... felt like killing someone!Now that I know that I'd been conned... I was so effing pissed off that I called the audioshop owner and voiced out my dissatisfaction. Surprisingly, he was shocked to know the truth too... he claimed that he didn't know anything about the actual pricing, as he is not specialised in BMW stuff except for In-Car Entertainment. After making a few calls to other BMW specialists, he admitted that I'd been overcharged... as even Auto Bavaria charged approx 1000 for the progman (including tax!). He had some arguments with the guy and promised to refund me the amount in full without extra charge. Anyway, for you guys... bro thule, do u need to upgrade ur current version to v31.5? cost u only RM350, i can recommend to you if u need . anyway in conclusion they gonna refund u o not? o just verbally agree refund but no action taken??

It was the Audio Shop boss who promised me refund, as he felt that both of us were conned. He's given so many business to this Raymond but I am the 1st one who actually found out about this... the boss didn't bother to check the actual market price for Progman due to the business relationship with Raymond...

What made me pissed off is that Raymond didn't bulge from his stand... insisting on RM2200!!! :thefinger:

wah i quite blur. without doing the ccc conversion, u can have Interface, Garmin GPS system and DVD player to ur car? how much it cost u for tat Interface, Garmin GPS system and DVD player in ur car? how come i was told tat i need to have the CCC completely change into Msia/uk spec in order to have Interface, Garmin GPS system and DVD player in my car? u no need do tat ccc conversion also can ah? weird le...can xplain more o not? else i gotta get it change next week le...don wanna end up sad story after change le

since you have already updated your software to v31.5, you should have seen "AuxIn" on your iDrive already... that is important as they will install the Interface there... after that, you can proceed to install the DVD player and Garmin gvn53 (this is the latest version... last time was gvn52, so take note).
Here are some breakdown:
1) Interface = RM2300
2) DVD player = RM1100
3) Garmin gvn53 = RM2500
Total RM5900

If you swap the CCC, additional RM5000 for you which means RM11900!!!
Perhaps u want to consider Reverse Camera as well... about RM1250 (branded of course)

Make sure that you are not misled ok??? What important here is that the people who will work on your car knows what they are doing... coz you don't wanna wires hanging here and there... installation work not up to standard, or even not working... coz BMW is too high tech...

Bro, if you do the CCC conversion, then no need the Garmin as it will come with the SatNav built in. So you just need the video interface and DVD player which should be around RM3K i think

LPPL....i really getting more confused on tis techinal stuff sial....bro alxy, u mean to do the CCC conversion and use the "built-in" tv tat i already had right? then to have the navigation system it only cost me RM3k+? if is so...then damn my mechanic had got the guts to quote me RM5k. he told me +/- RM1,500 from RM5,000 coz of euro dollar flactuations.

chookleng... select "Entertainment" on your iDrive... you should see a list of "FM, AM, TV, CD," and there's AuxIn or something like that...
Alxy is right... after CCC swap... you can use the Sat Nav system... which is located in your car boot on the left hand side...
unless you plan to use DVD player... no point installing interface...

bro thule i already check under entertainment. it only got this "FM, AM, CD, TV & MD" but don have tat "AuxIn" . ehhh is it because different version since mine is V31.5? wtf sial...don understand a shit at all y mine don have Auxin. somemore tis MD cannot be access as its in grey colour (compare to those accessible such as CD, AM its black colour). so wat now?

eh... how come??? V28 and above should already have the Aux In wor...
MD of course cannot access la... coz it's Mini Disc.. popularised by Sony... but no ppl use in Malaysia... so it's practically useless... try again, select entertainment... and then turn the knob clockwise until the end till you can't turn anymore.
If still can't see it.... call the guy who do progman... goreng him gao gao

LOL...its cost me RM5,000 to have things like Interface, Garmin GPS system, DVD player, TV (can watch even car on the move) and Ipod to be install in the existing screen. sigh....so many story don no which 1 is reliable. but he assure me tat no prob without the AuxIn, haha

I don't really know the exact situation on your side bro... as far as I concern, the CCC swap cost you RM5000! Which means u can use the original BMW Sat Nav system (ask him to give you the MalSing map v2.30 ok?)
your CD player will have the ability to play MP3 format... which is good!
But if you plan to watch DVD, it's better to have the Aux In or else, the sound will not be channelled directly to the speaker... but using radio frequency instead... sound quality not that nice lo... and you need separate DVD player to watch DVD la...
once you swap CCC... you will definitely lose the TV function... I don't understand why your mechanic claimed that you still can watch TV :stupid:
