help needed on 325i SMG gearbox.

anyone of you with the above model facing problem like me?The problem started few months back, the car was unable to move during a traffic jam. clutch slip and rocket forward at around 5k rpm.serviced my gearbox, repair some leakage on the clutch pump, new battery and reprogram my SMG.after a few days, the problem come back again. This time, the car sound a warning beep sound and i was unable to drive the car the next day. when every i shift to 1st, in will Neutral back after a few seconds(with some reving)now the workshop check and says that the carbon in the hydraulic pump is gone and i need a new pump(some rubber burning smell was notice before the car stay totally unable to move)just want to make sure i can fix everything right and no longer need to go back to the workshop again. Spend most of my time there in DEC and i need my car every single day( sales based job)Run diagnose again again and again and there is no error code on anything related on SMG.If anyone face or solve this problem before, please advice. thank you very very very much.regards,

JC : i`ve experienced this issue before but not SMG..am using normal 325 gearbox but the sympthm just like yours. My issue is, GCU faulty..you might wanna check that..

Paultan : How much your willing to sell of your manual gearbox??is it for e46?

what's a gcu?
the pump i snow gone. any idea where to get a used one? been looking for 1 for a week already. and how much is it for a new one?

GCU == gearbox control unit.

i had the same problem, just as u......i think u have to change ur actuator pump to a new one, dont use 2nd hand part sure will leak again....check ur hydraulic fluid.

i did mine last week.....its about 4500 for a new 1, and i think is good to change the clutch plate (rm 2k) together......and plus labor charge, and maybe u wanna updated the smg software too makes the car smoother.....all in should be around 8k......im really happy with my car now....;-)
