Help Needed for Error Message 2A87

Hi all beemer owner!

Would like to listen to you all on any experince on this Error Message 2A87 - Exhaust Vanos Mechanism. From internet it just need to replace the VANOS solenoid. My bus mins is a e60 - n52 2009 CKD with 160k total milleage. Anyone can share their experince on how to fix it. Besides that, which workshop allow you to bring in your own part in PJ area?

Hi all,

I guess it is something good to share. My e60 - n52 Error Message 2A87 - Exhaust Vanos Mechanism has been fixed. No more lost power and enginee shivering. I got it fixed at optimum kayu ara. Not cheap but very professional work as they don't jump into conclusion. They try out by clean and swap the outlet and intake solenoid first. Not working, then procceed with borrow another soleniod from another n52 to test out. Then only confirm the issue.

So can you share what's the cost $$$ of damage?

For part is 560, workmanship for trouble shooting and installation 150. Well since this is no similiar posting showing the cost of this fix. I'm not sure this price is ok or not. But from US site, the solenoid cost around 150 USD. To me it look resonable.

Another question, should i change the outlet solenoid as well like change this as a pair?

Don't think it is necessary to replace the outlet solenoid.
