Hi all Sifus

My friend is selling his E60 530i year 2004 at the price of RM65,000. Mileage is only RM80k
The car inside looks pretty new. Im thinking to buy it for my dad as a present on coming father's day.
As he is a big fans for BMW.

Was wondering Is there any recommended workshop in KL/Selangor area which i can check/diagnose
the hidden problem of this car before i buy it? Although the car look nice but its better to check before i buy it. if not, later endup "kena" RM30k-RM40k just to repair it.

Notice 2 error message when i do the test drive. Sifus, please help to advice.

Thank you very much all Sifus

You can go to Exotic Automobile Services in Bandar Puteri Puchong to have it diagnosed..Vincent Tay is the owner, a very nice guy..012 2967887..
good luck buddy..I'm sure your dad will be proud of you..!!!

first pic is the restraint system error.most likely the pax seat occupancy sensor.that can be bypassed using the seat emulator.google this.
second pic is lo coolant level.top up the coolant and findout the what's causing it to go low.(very important!)

your daddy must be proud!!!!!!!!

Those error messages are not as serious.. But still has to be fixed. There are plenty of workshops in KL/PJ that can do diagnostic on the E60 at a nominal fee. But what I suggest is that the car has to be sent to workshop to check for gearbox, axle, and engine... These are the ones that cost a bomb

besides the error messages i think you should also check if the car has been involved in an accident, check undercarriage for any leaks and the suspension system, rim and tyres. also cost a bomb like what thule said

the car is already 11 years old so i believe you should budget some spare cash for repairs and replacements. good luck. i dont mind a son like you

Dear Moots, Tq very much for your advice, will definately check out the coolant problem with the technician, was wondering do you have any recommended workshop for system diagnose for reasonable price? Thanks

Dear Thule, Tq very much for your advice, will take note on all those major parts like gearbox, axle & engine. I've read most of the post for E60, looks like gearbox is 1 of the major problem .I dont find the car jerking when i do the test drive but maybe i test in small road, should "tekan" on highway. Any recommended workshop in klang valley area bro? Thanks

Dear Committe, thank you very much for for advice. A friend of mine did went together with me to view the car and no major accident were found by checking the (front bonnet and back boot) but like what you've advice bro need to check the undercarriage, suspensionm rim & tyre too. Ya, its 11years car but still fantastic, really salute to all the E60 owner out there. Its really a good car. (FYI, im driving a 2010 camry 2.0) but when i test drive the car, my 1st impression is like WOW! Totally cannot compare Japan car with German technology. This is AWESOME!! Now i totally agree like what people said, once u drove BMW, you will stick to it forever. Ya bro, i already spare some cash for repair & replacement but its aint cheap to maintain, haha..major replacement cost 5 figure.. Any recommended workshop from you bro? Thanks

It depends mostly on where you or your dad live actually.. If you asked me, I'd pointed you to some of the workshops that I'd sent my car to...
1) M1 Motor Works @ kg Kayu Sg Ara (this is my most frequent and favorite one to service my E60).
2) Euro Tech Motorsport @ Kota Damansara - I started to service my Estima here but I can see a lot of Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, Bentley being serviced here too. Quite OK
3) Autoimage Motor Garage @ Taman Mayang PJ - my current Porsche is serviced here but of course they are not limited to Porsche only... BMW is also one of the brands they service

M-speed USJ- i send my car there for service. I have also recommended a few of my friends and so far no complaints. ah meng is quite particular about his reputation and will not change parts unless it's necessary . the low coolant level error is a bit of a concern if you ask me.

gimli....are you sure Ah Meng is particular about reputation? I beg to differ

what makes u say that bro?? So far i haven't had any issues with him. i have also recommended my friends and my brother to him, and they too are quite happy with his work. BTW just to clarify I am not affiliated with mspeed in any way.

I have been sending my cars (e39 & e60) to MSpeed for years and haven't had any issues with them. As with any workshops, there are bound to be satisfied and unsatisfied customers.

he he tru what abang herbert said....i stopped going to ah meng after getting my e39 for personal reasons....
