Kinaka,

Well guys, I've got my car back, three weeks (more?) after the bone-headed 360-degree encounter with the highway barrier.

In a word, she looks GREAT. Props again to Tyke, Skar & anyone else who helped find parts and recommend the workshop. Paint & bodywork look fantastic - although after looking at it over & over I'm only too aware of various gaps around the bodykit etc - NOT the workshop's doing, they were there before. It just didn't bug me back then because I wasn't staring hard enough...

The necessary radiator repair also seems to have solved the old overheating issue. Used to blow steam every few days...been driving 4 days now & temp gauge not going past dead center...fingers crossed

Still, the whole exercise took a huge bite of my bank account...just over 2 grand would have bought me some nice stuff (see below) rather than patch up 6 seconds of recklessness :(

But hey I'm back on the road, if only to have to put up with a few electrical demons which need sorting out when I find time. I'll put these in another post...in case anyone has ideas.

Meantime, while rueing the seemingly wasted moolah, I've been getting the itches for some essentials...well not exactly essentials, but oh-so-tempting. In approximate order of priority....

1. Nice steering wheel (MTec2 is NICE, but the premium is pretty ridiculous - any suggested alternatives???)

2. Old school wheels...can't beat BBS basketweaves...Alpina not bad either...we're talking replica (i.e. ciplak) on my budget. Sigh...I liked bottlecaps to start with but gone off 'em.

3. AT to MT conversion. Got the 'box, Again, time, money & good 'shop needed...

4. Lowering spring & stiffer shocks...next year's bonus methinks

5. THEN tukar enjin...after all that, b20's just not gonna cut it!

I know I know, why not do #5 first...
