newbie here..e30 as my first car :)

assalamualaikum and hi to all!!i just bought an e30 last week..it is e30 318i with 2.0 engine[swap to M20 if im not mistaken] year 1989..auto transmission.before this i only ride honda eX5 to work and college..so this e30 is my first car..had dreamed bout this car since in college.. seriously no experience with car..try to learn as much as i can from my father[he is a regular driver, but have a good experience since he is driving before i was born] and all here..the picture is as per attachment..i cant figure out how to post the picture here..so far i only change the tyre and the bulb..no major job done till now[its only just a week btw]..im thinking of send it to specialize shop/mechanic to have it inspected..many wiring had been cut by previous owner..so far what i can see is:add on by previous owner [if im not mistaken]:- engine swap from 1.8 to 2.0- bodykit Mtech- seat Mtech- 17" AC rim- modified exhaust tip [dont know what brand]- lowered the car..rear is eibach, front is koni [not so sure], but from the picture u can see how lowered the car is- rear disc brake- new white paint [but i dont think the painting job quality is good], when take the car for a wash, seems like the paint is peeling off after been shot with the high pressure water.-chrome meter ringso this is a thing that i should fix after a several look:-tyre wear and tare..seems the wear is more at the edge..maybe the rim is too big, and the car is too low, so the tyre is touching the body..i had try using 15'' rim with 205/60, but when full turn, the tyre is touching the body..- the mileage is not working..[this is important so that i know when to service]-all 4 power window is not working [i already check it.the connectivity from the swith to motor seem alright..either the motor is malfunction or the switch]..the passenger window switch have no wire at all- the on board maintenance panel[ the one above rear mirror] had lost it IC and all the wiring is gone- cracked dashboard [cosmetic]- tear seat [cosmetic], thinking of wrap it with leather- no antenna, the original antenna mounting had been close..i dont know where to put the antenna if got a replacement-the central lock is not working- if see the car from back, seems like it is heavier to the left..dont know why..- there is a wire socket under the handbrake panel, dont what it is suppose to attach to. - after i wash the engine, in idle it seems like the engine is starving..after several ramp,its back to normal..maybe there are more problems coming, but for now i only want to concentrate on safety/performance thing..the interior/cosmetic can be done later..im hope for all your advice/comment/critics..honestly in past 2/3 days im having a big headache just to think about this car but others[family and friends] advice me do it slowly..maybe it takes one year to make this car back to the tip top condition..well, the major problem is money..to sell it back, i-dont-think-so!! love this machine..anyone know e30 owners from bangi/kajang/serdang/sepang?cheers~

Enjoy restoration process. Also check your wheel bearings, bushes, mountings, belts and etc etc etc... which are likely to be due for replacement.

Send the car to the reputable workshop (ie optimum,etc) for a thorough inspection..need to prepare time and $$$$.
I think 17 inch is too big for e30,max 16 inch is enuff

yupz2..im thinking of green werk or optimum..just for inspection, how much it will cost me? i need to listed all the part to be changed and then prepare some $$$$ to replace it all..
for now i will stick to 17..i dont think there is any problems..need to change the absorber coz in my kampung there is a lot of bump..

Congratulations on your first car and congratulation on your e30. Looking pretty neat and i agree to the others about the tyre size. On my m40b18, i stick to 14'' as i think it is slow enough, anything bigger will only make it slower. As i dont do hard corners, i am fine with lesser handling. Since yours is 2.0, i suppose 15'' is fine. Just my 2c.

As per the guidance from the SiFus above, do bring the car to a reputable workshop for a good inspection.
At least you will know the critical needs and attend to them timely.

205/55 is the correct tyre size for 15" rims.
