hye to all sifu out there. im a newbie here.to make long story short, my father have pass me his 4-5years abandon e34.he's letting me to do what eva i like to that car (either sell it or modify it)for me, selling it is not worth it. but to modify it, this is the problem.the condition of the car is not running condition, and all interior and exterior doesn't look good to me.about the engine, my father actually left this car because of getting tired to repair the same problem, which is the gearbox. each time he repaired, will cost him around 3-4k. this is what i've been told.after looking at the 'yakuza e34 geng' page, i really22222 get interested to mod it.please all of the sifu out there, help me, giving idea and opinion, about:- the engine that i should use (for legal road use)- the yakuza alike bodykit (where to get)- the super damn nice rims, from that yakuza page- the OEM interior and exterior part- the price and place and any other info for the above stuffthanx yo..

If you want the YAKUZA look (Bkit) u can take the sample pic and look for Mike in USJ...the turning into Texchem....he can make anything u want...

for power you better test drive different spec E34 to get to know what kind of power u actually need.
who knows ori 525i 24V already too powerful for u :stupid:

a bi-turboed M50 is also not bad

wah.. great responds here.. thanx u guys. erm, sorry, about the picture, i can only post it after this coming 20th, since i am now in UAE, doing my practical training.

about 'how deep is my pocket', i don think its so deep. i will start doing some saving. actually, i know nothing about the cost of modding BMW, since i only did JDm conversion to my current perodua kenari. so, i really need the guide from u all.

about the style. i wish to have the 'yakuza alike exterior, and dono about the interior, maybe standard? and about the power, i have sme1 approached me to 540i and 1jz with turbo. any idea about this?

haha.. bro, how am i suppose to get all those ride? i wish i cud..

i think the bmwclub member and forumer here have various E34, from 520i, 525i, 535i, 540i to M5 :listen:
japanese converted also have, maybe if u can join TT session if u have time and can ask them to take u a for ride

i still prefer engine with linear output...

Well, I think for the start, we need to see what is the base 1st.

1) what year is the E34
2) what build is it, is it a M20bxx or M50bxx
3) what is the current problem (engine, gearbox, suspension, interior)

Then you do your budget according to what needs to be fix and to get the car going on the road WITHOUT any mod 1st. Once you sort that you, drive the car for a while. Enjoy the stock feel.

Then once the car is running good and running fine, then that's where the mods comes in. You can start by

1) Rims
2) Bodykit
3) Interior (if it's still not leather)
4) ICE
5) lighthings
6) Upgrade suspension
7) Upgrade engine or Mod your current engine
8) Tint
9) Bodywork (respary)

This would be a rough guide. It's all up to individual to play with his/her car. But this is the path I would take if I am in your shoes.

For the base:
1) i dono which year. i only know the reg num is WDP. will check about this soon.
2) what is 'M20bxx or M50bxx'? huhuhu
3) current problem for me i think all, engine, interior, exterior. because this car isn't moving from the year '04 till now. i've seen it, exterior is not so bad, but need the touch-up work tho. interior is bad, and engine, never know. i'll upload the photo details soon.

and for the stock feeling, i only like it to be stock on interior(leather), and ICE.
and for the others (rims, bodykit, suspension, engine, tint, bdywork, etc), i wish to have it all in modded(not stock) condition. huahuahua.

and for the TT session, where is it held? and who is here in ampang that i cud contact?

just brush up on your basics for bmw terminlogy or jargon. You can find the engine code here

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_BMW_engines

and more info on E34

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_E34

So, do some bedtime reading.

And as 535i said, how deep is your wallet. It's all about the money.

thanx for the info bro. will be reading this.
yeah, ofcoz it's all about the money. for now i only have 5k++ (so little tho)
but soon or later i will gain more. start doing saving. (depends on the 'racun' also) huhu

now i got 1 offer, 16.5k for 1jz engine + installation. is it too expensive?

to me yes and to me, i will not transplant a non BMW engine into a BMW engine.

I second that.

One of the factors that seduces me from other makes besides BMW is the engine's unique sound.

If i have to force feed the engine i will rather force feed the BMW engine itself.

*linear output: smooth output curve developed by NA engine. However, bi-turbo can also achieve near linear output. I like to be sticked to the seat when i step on the gas, but not to be sticked suddenly like some single turbo setup

Dude - having a powerful engine ie 1JZ means nothing if you did not upgrade your brakes, suspension, rims, tires etc etc ..

Safety first - that's the rule of thumb.

Stick to original modifications ie change to 17 rims, change all the rubber bushing, perhaps overhaul the engine, new interior, paint etc .. and enjoy the ride .

As for the gearbox - no issues - there are options available ie change to a recond gbox, overhaul it (again - but get a good mechanic to do it), or perhaps - change to a stick.

You plate num is WDP - so I presumme it's running on M50 (2.0 or 2.5) - that itself is a good base to work on .

1) Allocate some money (5 K u say ?)
2) Set priority - get the car going; full checkup, new tires, check gbox, check engine
3) List want-to-do items with approx figures eg 17 rims - 2K, leather - 3K etc etc
4) Work from there

Dun expect to do everything overnite - i might take years !

last but not least - get a RELIABLE /HONEST mechanic ...

have fun and enjoy ...

.....slowly slowly bro zack7. At the end every hard work u have done will surely be paid off. CHEERS,.

now i felt embarrassed to myself. huhu. stick to the stock. ok.
anyone know where to get good mechanic to check my car in ampang area maybe??
and about list-to-do items will be start from here, from the guide of u guys.
