I was on my way to go to the Curve from my office at Damansara Perdana, and since fasting month started it seems to be jam here and there... can't run away from it.. sigh... As I'm stuck right before the U turn in front of Citibank, then I saw a poor lil kitten freaking out and struggling to cross the road.. To my horror!! the nissan's driver infront of me couldn't be bother about the poor kitten next to him so without any second thought he move his car and I saw with my own eyes that he overrun the poor kitten feets... I straight away turn my hazard light on and went out to help the poor kitten which at that time is jumping here and there and turning its body nonstop due to the unbearable pain....To my horror another car without any second thought straight away overrun the kitten and this time i saw the poor kitten head bleeding as it lay there motionless.. The car that overrun the kitten just move on as if there is nothing happen.. How can these people be so cruel and ignorant??? It was jam and the poor kitten might still be alive if the moron driver infront of me could just go down and take the kitten to a safer place.. I cant believe this is how people value animals as something thats dispensable... It is sad but most malaysian drivers are heartless and ignorant.. They will only show concern if its someone they know... *animals are not even in their lists*

Well, what you say is partially true. There are indeed some heartless ones, but I still believe the huge lot of em here in Malaysia are still kind at heart. In your description above, I'd say the 1st driver is heartless but I'd have to be subjective about the 2nd driver. You know the situation better coz you were witnessing the incident. I've had to run over some animals in my time, coz its either them or I could end up killing a fellow human being. Talk about choices....

I'm guessing the type of fler the 1st driver is the kind that don't value life at all. Some drivers don't even value human lives, how much can you expect them?

climenta325, I have to disagree with u regarding the 2nd driver, as ive mention im stuck in a jam.. Therefore nobody is driving fast and furious, both drivers could have make a diff if only they are not ignorant.. Plus ive turn my hazard light on and there is a big space infront of me, but the thing is they are too ignorant to even be bother to value this poor lil kitten life!!

Now that's another arsehole there in the 2nd car. I bet you felt like doing it to both those drivers, don't worry coz what goes around comes around. Poor kitten though :(

in two weeks i have picked up 4 dead cats off the road. I tell u some ppl are bastards when it comes to animals. They just dont care, if they see it on the road crossing why cant they just try to avoid, if u cant avoid, pull over and park your car, pick the cat up and put it to the side.. Thats what i do.. Damn la... is it so hard to do?

sad to hear bout such heartless and merciless people around here... i thought malaysians were a caring lot.

bythe way, i saw a RapidKL bus nearly (by like few hair breaths) run over a poor doggy

Salina, I'm sorry to hear that you had to go through such an ordeal. I reckon that I would be traumatised if I were you, having had to see a living creature being put to death, aggressively with such cruelty.

Regardless of opinions and perceptions, that is not an experience that any of us would want to see.

I agree with u, its definetly not an experience that i enjoy seeing... If its lying dead by the time i reached the impact wasn't as bad as seeing it being overrun to death... :(

if it was a persion kitten then everyone could be rushing to pick the cat back ... Otherwise .... no one cares these days ... same goes to the other animals ...

talking about animal ... what about those bikers thats being left to death by those hit and run arseholes ..... infact human too nobody cares these days ...

Life is getting cheaper these days .....

It makes me sad coz eventhough most malaysians are well educated but apparently they are not being educate to value the small things in life... I know, not all malaysians are like this moron drivers but those who are good hearted and value other life forms especially animals are very rare in today society.... :(

instead of being sad salina ...let's look into other angles ... the driver may not had noticed the poor little kitten ...he may be on the phone , dreaming of what to do when he gets back , could be into his trance music mode to release tensions and so ...

hmmm.. it doesn't seems to work... :( how can one fail to notice when the kitten was on the road divider next to his window??? Due to the nature tat cats easily panicked, the kitten went down from the road divider coz his car is not moving due to the red traffic light.. But being panicked the kitten try to go back to the side of the road and thats when he overrun the poor kitten's feets :( ....

hi hi..

Sad to hear what happen to the little fellow... Nothing new i guess, we hv all at some point seen things like this happen. . First of all that kitten should not be anywhere near these busy roads. How did it get there? Who it belongs to? If its a stray cat, who do we blame it on?? The department i say... our country is way behind when it comes to things like this compared to Europe or the States. Talking about this, what about the famous cat soup dishes in Taiwan??

Just sad sad sad...

everyday i see roadkill on the way to work..dogs...cats...you name it. i'm an animal lover and it pains me to see such suffering. true, what have they done to deserve this? i guess part of it is caused by human irresponsibility. they like pets when they are small..cute..but when they grow bigger and not so adorable anymore they just dump them by the highways. better yet, some of them don't want to spend that extra cash to spay their pets so when the pets starts multiplying it becomes a problem.

i'm not saying the above is the main reason. its a contributing factor....

very sad to hear this as i have seen it many times too...its actually everyones contribution on this matter...even the government...imagine that even human rights is a big question mark so what will happen to animals..As bro Hellraiser pointed out, many goes for the cute ones but when it comes to the same animal living outside their compound they start to hate it...mentality!!

Since God created us, we can call this mother nature's way of "population" control.

I rolled over snake before, purposely didn't avoid and I even apply my brake to drag my wheels a little to make sure the impact is a little more lethal... if biawak, I avoid.. of course kitten and puppy too...

Another way of looking at it, if its really not meant to be, the kitten's spirit will haunt the driver to disturb his/her peace.... or maybe its time for the kitten to reincarnate into a higher form being or being born as a kitten was a mistake? so the kitten should say thank you to the driver who kill it..

people who do that will always get at least double of the pain later....so sad to hear that!!!!

Well, at least the kitten was put out off its miserly, but what a way to go. I know how you feel, I for one witness a reckless and drunk driver running over my dog, and it was not even on the road, it was by the side of the road on the curb in front of my house. My dad ran after the car, must a real super human effort for he managed to catch up with the driver who happened to stay some blocks away. Well, when my father told the driver that he ran over my dog, the f**king driver just remarked ya lor and paid us RM500. Just like that.

Guess some Malaysian drivers are real devils when they get behind the wheel of a car...

I believe what goes around comes around and the 2 drivers will get their just desserts when it time for them to go....
