Hello my fellow UDMer's,I'm having the Hand Break and ABS lights is ON when the ignition is ON and also while driving. The handbreak light changes from amber to red light (after 1-2 mins while driving) and the ABS light remains as amber. Is it caused by the ABS and hand break sensor or some other issues?Need your valueable advice sifu's. :)

Hi, well had the same issue..most likely its the ABS wheel sensor. Cost should be RM2xx per piece...check with the Jln Ipoh spare parts shops.

So happen mine just light up yesterday as well! But it was only the DSC and brake light (both in amber). Happened when I was doing spirited driving on SPRINT with speed around 80 km/h. Both lights came up with a beep but there was no effect on the power or handling. Continue driving to KL & turned off the car. Both lights were gone once I restarted. Was praying it was only a dirty speed sensor was driving through heavy rain yesterday morning.

Both lights remained off this morning when drove to Seremban. Will monitor closely and hope nothing pops up!

I have did some reading and causes of the lights may be due to faulty ABS module/pump, ABS sensor or wheel speed sensor. If the DSC light lighted as well, may be due to DSC module, steering angle sensor. brake pressure sensor or even low brake fluid, with DSC module being the most costly at almost RM3k.

Do send your car for diagnostic to check the root cause.

Hello,
I had the ASC light turned ON too when the speed sensor is gone

After the car moves a few meters, these three new lights popped up with a beep. It's the DSC, ABS and brake light(?). Ignore the SRS light as it is irrelevant in this topic.

Diagnosed the car and it's the speed sensor. Error messages are stored in two modules - DSC and EGS. After clearing the error, the lights and beep came again after driving a few meters. Error message as below.

With GT1, you can query the reading from the sensors by having somebody to turn the wheel. Please get your diagnostic tool and diagnose

Aidil, get your speed sensor change. DIY also can.. easy job to do. Get the spare from any BMW spare part shop.

wingzee.. aidil is located in Penang.

Veera, get your car scan via a diagnostic tool to see which wheel sensor is faulty. (like like aidil did to his car)

Note : When the DSC and brake light comes ON and remain ON, the DSC or ASC will be disable. it means one of the speed sensor at the four wheels is failing. Normally the failure is usually the front side due to the higher temperature encounter in the front brake disc.
Drive slowly if the DSC light is ON.

Mine also same.

Both lighted up in amber, after I passed by the dusty road at port klang.
Never come back again after engine off.

Not yet get it scanned.
Still monitoring it.

I think in most cases (and better pray it is), are due to dirty speed sensors. Mine all is good so far for today.

Jarance, the sensor has already been replaced at the mechanic. Had to do this quick since going for a long drive. Noticed how important this is after spinning the car at the car park - plenty of torque after swapping to manual..

Wingzee, please make your own diagnostic machine, see my sig for details. It will be beneficial in the long run and fun..

Bro Jarance, Aidilj, Wingzee & Iceduke.... thank you so much for the valueable inputs. i will get the speed / wheel sensors checked. I was recommended a BMW specialist in Setia Indah here in Johore.

One more question. Where can I get the diagnostic tool? With this tool, can I check for the problems on my own? :)

To make a diagnostic tool, you'll need a windows laptop/desktop

The cable can be made or bought online, if you have these tools you have the same debug capability as some workshop, please refer to the diagnostic thread for more detail

Mine just lighted 3 times in a 300km journey up north. Everytime I turned off the engine the signs are gone. Time to send for diagnosis. :(

Okay let me know if you reach Penang..

UPDATE: Both DSC & handbrake light been on & off for 4 times (off everytime I turned off the vehicle) for travelling distance of around 600km. Initial mech experience diagnosed it as DSC brake pressure sensor failure. Going to send for proper GT1 diagnose tomorrow.

Just got my ride diagnosed confirmed to be pressure sensor & steering angle sensor fault. Will try to erase the code for now & monitor how it goes. 2 x pressure sensor is estimated to be RM1k while steering angle sensor is whopping RM1.8k!
