Time to change my 320d tyre. Was recommended by Quicksave USJ 7 to use GT Radial HPY. He said good tyre, value for money and used by many BMW club members. All 4 unit at RM 1800. Very good deal. Anybody using this tyre can share their experience?Thank you.

I got them yesterday from Quicksave! so far so good! The slope up to my place when raining and wet, the previous Falken 452 tyres (even when new) always DSC light comes on when I floor the pedal-with the GT raduial tyres, no more wheel spin! good! I also note that the threadwear index is 300-the max!
It is not a budget tyre, its an economical tyre! Damn good buy! Our 320d makan tyres like nothing, especially the rears. I prefer to be safe and change tyres every 6 months or so. Especially during this rainy season, need good ( and almost perfect) tyres!

better spend 1800 every 6 months then 4000 (for Michelin's PS2) every 6 months. Even Jeremy Clarkson says all tyres are the same-its just bloody branding! Bollocks (British expletive word he loves to use)!

Been using it for 6 months on my E46. Much better grip in dry & wet than my old Falken 912 and RE001. The only same tire which offer the same quality in the same price range is Nexen N8000 but the wear rate is much higher.

Any feedback on the noise level on the road?

Noise level minimal. Quite silent tires I would say. For RM350 (225/45R17) and RM450 (245/40R17), nothing to complain to be honest.

Was also recommended that by Quicksave, read a lot of good reviews of the tyres!

Support Indon.... :p

Local tyre manufacturers are seriously losing market share to imported tyres... If it goes on like that, have to close shop aledi...

From their website, Champiro HPY is XL rated, means having a reinforced sidewall, this should somewhat mimic the RFT which translates to better cornering abilities.

Agree with you there on the tyre types, no matter el cheapo or super premium, once thread life reaches 50% and above, the droning noise and performance drop will be obvious. Hmmm, was seriously contemplating toyo t1 sports for my upcoming change to 18sx (as bro maniac calls it), now it seems I have a more viable yet economical option.

Do give us a field report if you can doc, particularly comparing it with the 452s

So far after 2 days driving my 320d with the GT tyres, can say its a quiet tyre. Pressures I used 32 fronts and 34 rears and its a comfy ride. In the wet, good sure hold on the road....very hard to throw the DSC lights on. Cornering in the dry, no wheel screech heard. with the FK452, always had wheel screeches even if the DSC light doesnt show up.

Agree with kunta, thread down to 50%-change tyres! GT tyres will suit your safety (and your pocket) well with the high torque of our 320d eating away our rubbers-sep the rears like nothing!

Had a spirited drive up and down Genting/Ulu-Yam with the boys a month ago and the tires held up pretty well in dry too. Not wheel screech even on hard cornering. Not once the DSC light was thrown. For RM1.6k, it should be the best bang for buck tires. :)

Been hearing a lot of positive feedback about these indon tyres.

Do they come in run flats?

Thanks bro... But our recommended 19 inch for the back
is 255/30/19....what happens if we switch to 255/35/19?
Will it affect the suspension or handling? Will it rub on the
walks?
Thanks
It really depends on the rims, the offset and how much you toe in the camber. Meaning the more aggressive the offset, with thicker profile tyres, it will have a higher chance of rubbing. Some rubbing can be removed by rolling the fenders but personally I haven't tried those sizes yet.
